But when I say the world is suffering from terminal dick riding, I do genuinely feel that people’s willingness to believe and defend the words of any man with a crumb of fame or more money than them is going to doom us all at scale.

It’s refreshing and a little hopeful to hear this may be the case, because I’ve long worried about the generational impact of young people watching the most low character, nakedly corrupt and mean people repeatedly winning office.
U of Mich. Voter: "Seeing candidates like Abdul, like Mamdani in New York, who are all very personable, who bring respect back to politics, is the reason why the younger generation vibes with them so well."

Not that it’s some clean binary, but the notion that there may be a strong enough contingent who has witnessed it and wants to repel and resist the nonsense as opposed to just conceding that’s the way it is makes me feel a little better.

Just make sure it’s a solo mission and not the typical familicide.
If I wake up tomorrow and a black named Keisha lance bottoms is the governor of Georgia I will actually murder myself

Nobody in that party communicates as well as this guy, and that’s not at all a slight to the young emerging talent revealed and sharpened this cycle.
We must shout this from the rooftops. Don’t get too comfortable with the results from tonight. Voters are giving Democrats a chance — and the only way we can win over voters is by coming out of the gate swinging and making big, bold meaningful change.

Who is this messaging for? The Black voters he’s insulting, or the white voters who would fall for this bullshit, but actually don’t care at all about the safety of Black babies?
Ohio Gov. candidate Vivek Ramaswamy claims that "a Black baby" is "probably safer in the streets of Chicago than in the womb of his own Black mother"

The level of willful stupidity this argument requires is breathtaking. What happened to the paltry number of Republicans who stood up to Trump, Dan? They were driven out of the party. The guy who attacked it was renominated and is currently presiding over the most corrupt and inept presidency of our lifetime, with zero pushback from a GOP congress. Not even when he pardoned the people who attacked the Capitol that day. But sure! Put those guys back in charge. You sound insane.
The system was attacked in 2020, but the system held. The courts, the governors, the state-level election officials and Congress all played the roles they were designed to play.

I’m not sure what this is implying, considering the term “RINO” has persisted for decades to ostracize even mild disagreements among elected GOP officials. Yes, the backlash would be very similar.
The political class is furious with Haley Stevens, isn't it.

Let's play a thought experiment. Suppose that John Cornyn not only refused to endorse Ken Paxton, but also explicitly endorsed James Talarico on the weekend of what promises to be a very close election in Texas. Does any serious person really believe that he would be greeted with the same vow of great vengeance and furious anger that we have seen hurled at Haley Stevens?

Be honest. We all know what the answer is. I'm testing everyone here.

On the contrary, it all matters. That young woman’s life and accomplishments are not diminished just because dumb bigots on the internet think white men are the only people qualified to do anything. Everyone who uses DEI as a pejorative is a lazy sheep.
You could do everything right in life, get your pilot license in high school, go to church every Sunday, etc, and you could still end up with everyone watching your death online and commenting about how you were a DEI pilot. Nothing really does matter man

Online echo chambers and GOP messaging are disturbingly effective. A lot of you adopt the posture and rhetoric even when you’re trying to condemn it. These people are not correct, they’re just smart enough to work up the dumbest fuckers on the planet in an endless loop of rage.

This is part of the problem with selective quality service. And unfortunately, these celebrity vanity project restaurants in Atlanta are the ones who most frequently go out of business.
Like what’s the point of giving Keith Lee some outlier 5-star service? Play that scenario out. He’s going to sit in his car and sing your praises and then 99% of people who show up because of him are not going to get the Keith Lee special. You’ll still have your same shortcomings

And to be clear, the restaurant business is hard af anyway. High overhead, low margins, high turnover, high vendor sensitivity. Of course it’s going to be harder when you treat it like you’re just trying some shit as a side mission.

Really embarrassing and unnecessary story arc for 2Chainz. Just not a justifiable hill to die on and every argument he makes for it is worse than the last.
2 Chainz appears to be responding to the backlash surrounding his recent exchange with food critic Keith Lee over celebrity privilege and preferential treatment at restaurants.

In a new Instagram post, the rapper questions what constitutes hard work and success, seemingly hind his accomplishments.

“Do you really think the illuminati picked out some black kids from the ghetto and made them successful?” he wrote, adding, “What is hard work to you???”
