@BluSn0vy I spent a chunk of time in the Islamic world, they'd have their little girls in cute outfits, ponytails, ribbons.. And then the mother would be a walking letterbox. I thought "oh, they are worried I might think the mom is hot, but the daughter is not a concern."

@BluSn0vy The current Anglosphere seems to be precisely the opposite of that..

@BluSn0vy The only reason I'm as much of a boring teleio, is because where I grew up little girls were taken as a given to not be "sexual", unlike "adult women" who were then placed under more rigid rules of modesty. So for me the adult woman was what was forbidden and unknown then.

@ILoveTarrant Those are the Hasidim, I think. Funny enough, those guys are actually significantly less crazy than Lev Tahor, lol.

If we described Dubček's Czechoslovakia to a self-described Tankie, I wonder how many of them would say "now that's how you do Socialism!" They're quite positive about Modern China and Vietnam, so...

@ILoveTarrant It depends on the sect, even in Judaism. Lev Tahor for instance are basically the Taliban, but Jewish.

Male Gaze is based acktually
i do believe that it's okay to criticize indie creators for obviously designing their female characters for the male gaze. I thought everyone agreed that pattern is rooted in misogyny.Community noteOne of the indie creators who designed the female characters herself has publicly stated that she is a woman.

I find safe horny culture more insufferable than Christian or Islamic prudes in some ways. They think it's fine to be "moderately degenerate" as they'd see it.

@Ram22375433 True, though Prince Salman still aims to placate them somewhat (e.g. by executing a couple foreigners for blasphemy, the old fashioned way). A regime that specifically aimed to root them out would probably be met with stiffer resistance.

@Ram22375433 Either way, Salafists wouldn't take this lying down..

I think I've had a bad habit of "following the smoke," and inhaling it. Just like when I thought I was a psychopath for opposing lockdown..🧶

At the end of the day, I expect my desired social order to overall be safer, fairer, and more prosperous. Not less. I oppose the paternalism, because I think it decreases quality of life and violates people's rights. 🧶

I favor strict natural rights principle, not because I'm fine with child abuse, but because I think a society which uniformly opposes the initiation of force, even against young people, is more likely to enable children to leave intolerable situations than under paternalism. 🧶

I favor a free market economy because I believe it will maximize material prosperity, not because I want people to starve, it's supposed to feed more people this way. 🧶

I had got myself in a corner where I was saying "yes I'm pro suffering pro, struggle and harm! Let natural selection separate the wheat from the chafe!" But over time I realized that I don't really like that framing... 🧶

When one perceives a total opposition, it often quite easy to accept the framing of one's opponent, because it feels emotionally more edgy. 🧶

@MinaBackup44 What is the faravahar doing there? Are they going to argue Jesus is both the saoshyant and messiah somehow?
