“If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is.”

Astronomy, mathematics, science, the universe.

Centuries before Galileo, Al-Biruni (b. 973) described the movements of the sun, earth, and moon. Al-Biruni was a Khwarazmian Iranian scholar and polymath during the Islamic Golden Age. [British Library Or. 8349, f. 31v]

Which "God" decided this would be the best way to set up the universe?

Euler's Prime-Generating Polynomial seems like a divine gift for its creation of a super-long string of prime numbers. The equation is f(n) = n² + n + 41 (or the similar form f(n) = n² - n + 41), and for consecutive integer values of n, specifically from 0 to 39 for the first form, and 1 to 40 for the second. Alas, the flood of primes eventually dries up.

It feels like a gift, a polynomial sieve for infinity. Or maybe a tease, or an attempt at heavenly humor...

A mathematician emerges from a cave, hands you the paper below, and says: "Is it possible for a line to avoid passing through any locations where x and y are both rational)? The line may not be horizontal or vertical." What is your response?

A mathematician emerges from a cave, hands you the slip of paper below, and says: "Do we have the technology or brainpower to determine if the value for this expression is positive or negative?" What is your response?

Physics. Reality Explained.

In superstring theory, the extra dimensions of spacetime are sometimes conjectured to take the form of a 6-dimensional Calabi–Yau manifold.

ChatGPT and mathematics.

I asked ChatGPT to plot

x = 16*sin^3(t); y = 13*cos(t) − 5*cos(2t) − 2*cos(3t) − cos(4t)

and it created this beauty to warm your heart and make you quiver.

AlphaGo Zero learned Go through self-play alone, and became extremely competent. If you let AlphaGo Zero continue with self-play for decades, would it discover any deep secrets about the universe or reality? Would it reveal exquisite, beautiful geometric patterns in abstract human minds could never fathom? tinyurl.com/4w5ysd5y

It is very unlikely for a tweet on "Free Falling Objects" to be retweeted. It lacks the kind of excitement required for a tweet to become popular and beloved.
