Our analysis confirms that the attacker used exposed LND .macaroon credentials to access funds. Only LND users are affected, but we recommend everyone update to BTCPay Server 2.4.2.
We found no evidence that on-chain or hot wallets created in BTCPay Server were affected.

BTCPay users already patched, just hit that update button if you use @Core_LN. If you don't use it, you're not affected and no action needed.
We’ve upgraded Core Lightning in BTCPay to 26.06.9.
CLN users: update now, to mitigate a vulnerability that can lead to loss of funds.
Server Settings → Maintenance → Update, or run btcpay-update(.)sh (remove parentheses).
If you don't use CLN you are unaffected; no action needed.
