i will say that this conversation is reinforcing my opinion that pre crisis barbara and post crisis barbara are very distinct characters...i think yale and ostrander really reinvented her and for the better. post flashpoint is also a different character but then it's a downgrade

i feel like writers haven't explored the bana-mighdall enough in all those years and then they introduce the esquecidas and it all gets worse lol two tribes of amazons who suffer racism and xenophobia both in-universe and from the creators but no real attempt is made to fix it

it's not inherently bad storytelling for the amazons of themyscira to be prejudiced, it can actually be good to show they're not a monolith of idealized pure women, but when the narrative justifies their prejudice even when acknowledging they wronged the bana-mighdall...

it's interesting to see how dc was treating wonder woman during 2021-2023, i wasn't a fan at that time but reading her comics now it seems like she was at a much better place at least in regards of content quantity
