Poor fundamentals of tackling is the story of this game.

I remember during Kalani’s first few years at BYU, when the program was really struggling and losing a lot of games. One night, they were doing the Kalani Football Show live on TV, and basically zero fans showed up. His own football players ended up sitting in the audience to fill the empty seats. I remember Kalani getting emotional and breaking down in tears.

He has since admitted that during that time, he questioned whether he was the right guy for the job and whether he could turn the program around. I thought that might be his last year as BYU’s head coach.

And now look at him and this program… #2 IN THE COUNTRY!!!

What an incredible story of perseverance, loyalty, and believing in something when almost nobody else did. So happy for Kalani. He deserves every bit of this! 💙🤙

I think it’s fair to have an uncomfortable conversation about this one. BYU’s players on both sides of the ball played their hearts out tonight. The effort, energy, and execution were outstanding minus a muffed punt and a couple dropped passes. Credit to every one of them.

But when you dominate statistically on offense and only put up 24 points, that falls on the coaching staff, not the players. Proud of the players, but I don’t feel great about this one.

First, I should probably clarify what I meant. I’m absolutely not talking about Kalani. There isn’t a bigger Kalani fan than me. I love that guy.

My frustration is more with the offensive play-calling, especially on 4th down. I love the aggressiveness and the willingness to take chances. I have no problem going for it on 4th down. But the actual play calls in those situations were awful.

I’m also not calling for anyone to be fired. That’s not something I’d jump on X and say. I’m simply saying it’s okay to have an uncomfortable conversation about the offensive coaching potentially costing BYU points in this game. With how well the players performed and the statistical advantages BYU had, I just don’t think the offensive coaching did a very good job.

I genuinely want to know the reasoning why on 4th and less than a yard, A Rod continues to call plays from the shotgun. Why can’t Bear get under center and run a QB sneak? Really would like to know. Frustrating.

BYU covered the spread on the road without their best player. I’ll take it. Great Win. On to the next. Go Cougs!

So much love and respect for BYU @kalanifsitake @Pouha91 and the people of Provo.

From the minute we parked, it was “Welcome to Provo,” “Good luck today,” “Go Cats.” People offered us food and drinks from their tailgates. Inside the stadium, same thing even ice cream at 2nd quarter . And their crowd was electric

I sat in ADA seating with my father in law and he was wearing his Fifita #1 jersey. People constantly checked on him and treated him with nothing but respect, even when Arizona made a play. They probably thought i was his care giver, lol.

Made me think, this is what real competition should look like. Welcome people into your home, treat them with respect and grace, then when the ball is kicked off, try to knock each other’s heads off.

We hosted our first league games Sunday , six games from 9AM–7PM. I told our staff: make everyone feel welcome. If someone genuinely can’t pay at the door, let them in. Let them watch their kid.

If we want to change the culture at the high school and college level, it starts in youth .

And I don’t think it’s a coincidence faith is at the center of BYU’s culture. Jesus welcomed everyone to His table.

Compete hard. Cheer loud. Want to win BAD. But still love people.

Appreciate the love , Provo.

Memphis Grizzlies - you just got an absolute dawg of a player. One of my all time favorite athletes to ever suit up for BYU. Richie is relentless and knows how to ball. #32 pick in the draft. Way to go Richie!! GO COUGS!!

I might have to switch up and ride with the Raiders 👀🔥
Two of my all-time favorite BYU guys headed to Vegas! Chase and Tanner are about to elevate that squad, on the field and in the locker room. Nothing but respect for those dudes and their families. Straight dogs!!

Congrats @YsTanman11 and @chase_roberts11 👏🏽💪🏽

As an Iranian watching this rescue mission unfold, I was praying the American pilot would make it out alive, not just for him, but so the Islamic Republic could not use him as a bargaining chip or claim some twisted “victory.”

At the same time, I felt a deep envy.

Your pecial forces, million-dollar aircraft, and moved heaven and earth to bring one American home. No hesitation. No excuses.

In Iran, the regime uses human shields and recruited child soldiers to clear minefields during the Iran-Iraq war. They treat their own people like disposable tools. They are now recruiting child soldiers as we speak.

The Islamic Republic has zero regard for human life. That’s the brutal difference.

One side risks everything to save their own.
The other sacrifices their own to stay in power.

This hits hard when you have lived under both realities.

He is risen! And because Christ rose again, we will too. Thanks to Him, no pain, fear, failure, or unfairness is permanent. This is greater love. This is Easter.
