Substitute @toluarokodare scored his 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣th career goal as #Ajax beat Atalanta 2-0 to record their first win in the league phase of the Conference League.

The Nigerian showed strength to win a duel, then scored a very well-taken goal before setting up Abdellah Ouazane's goal.

"Chaos & Armonia": the almost cosmic chaos created by countless splashes of water against a dark background provides the setting for the graceful twisting dive of a Russian artistic swimmer at the European Aquatics Championships held in Paris this summer.

An appropriate title for ured by photographer Andrea Masini, from Livorno, which has been named the winner of the 2026 "Momenti di Sport" Photography Award, organised by the Lombardy Sports Journalists' Association (GLGS-USSI Lombardia).

"I apologised for the mistakes made"

FIFA president Gianni Infantino gave "no satisfactory answers" when grilled Thursday during a meeting to discuss his attempts to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors, senior members of football's global governing body said, but for the failed project.

"We asked a great many critical questions, but there were no satisfactory answers from my point of view," said Bernd Neuendorf, the head of the German FA (DFB), who is also a member of the FIFA Council.

Neuendorf was speaking after the Council met behind closed doors at the body's Zurich headquarters, where Infantino's FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal was one of the main topics on the agenda.

But Infantino has called for unity and reiterates that “football is for everyone, everywhere,” while also apologising for the mistakes made in relation to the withdrawn FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal.

#Benin coach Gernot Rohr on the post-match scenes vs Argentina on RMC.🗣️ "The only dark spot is that the Argentinians didn't give anything to our players. Not even a photo with Messi. We wanted to swap jerseys, but we didn't get one. They wouldn't even let us in their hallway. ne. Players came with their jerseys to swap with others even not with Messi but others (Argentina players), but they wouldn't. We knew it'd be tough. My player Tijani, who loves Messi, gave him a red rose before the match plus an Amazon gift from Benin. We tried everything, even a bouquet in Benin's colours (red, yellow, green), but nothing worked. I was able to give my Messi shirt from 2018 (I had after a game against Nigeria at the World Cup) to the coach (Lionel Scaloni). He signed it and gave it back to me. I waited half an hour but it's ok. It was an unforgettable evening."

June 2024: FIFA ruled that Emilio Nsue, the top scorer at AFCON 2023, was never eligible to play for Equatorial Guinea throughout his 11-year international career. EQ Guinea were stripped of their World Cup 2026 qualification victories against Namibia and Liberia, with their ee-goal victory. Both games ended 1-0 thanks to Nsue goals.

Nsue was banned from international football for six months and the Equatoguinean federation (Feguifut) fined 150,000 Swiss francs (£131,000).

The judgment was based on Nsue playing competitive matches for Spain’s youth teams before featuring for Equatorial Guinea’s senior side without having been granted permission for a change of association.

October 2026: #DRCongo goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi played for his nation at the 2026 World Cup. Mpasi, who was born in France and played for Les Bleus at youth level, had never completed the process of switching nationalities, FIFA reportedly found. No punishment was levied against the Congolese federation, FECOFA.

Same fixture ended in a 1-1 draw in summer 2025.
