Pilot Training:
IndiGo makes a global first in pilot training!
IndiGo becomes the first airline worldwide to adopt Skywise’s A320 Virtual Procedure Trainer (VPT) for abnormal and emergency procedures.
Key highlights ⬇️
🔹 First in South Asia to deploy the Skywise A320 VPT.
sed training allows pilots to practise cockpit procedures, checklists and emergency scenarios in a virtual environment.
🔹 Bridges classroom learning and full-flight simulators, enabling pilots to practise procedures before simulator sessions.
🔹 Builds on IndiGo’s adoption of Airbus MATe Suite in 2021, currently used by 6,300 flight crew members.
🔹 Integrating MATe Suite with VPT completes IndiGo’s end-to-end digital pilot training ecosystem, aligned with Airbus OEM training standards.
➡️The significance:
IndiGo is expanding digital pilot training beyond classroom instruction, adding virtual procedural practice ahead of full-flight simulator sessions.

This is my understanding
All leave.
25% get letters to join as regular cadre. They have option to decline.
75% get option to continue for 2 more years. They have option to decline
Of these 75%, from those who take up the offer, some may be offered regular cadre after 2 years, based on objective selection criteria (whatever that means). They would have option to decline

@ShivAroor be a twin edged sword.
Those leaving now (not accepting extn) would get a chance to settle down in next vocation immediately.
Those staying back, will have to fight this fight 2 years later.
From those staying back, those retained, would re-start their military career, from the bottom rung, two years later.
Considering a slew of announcements made by the state and central govts, the possibility of getting employment for those leaving now is fairly high.
They get in now- in a new sarkari job, they can stay till retirement (60 yrs).
The situation may not be same 2 years later.

Veterans who want to interfere in defence issues when serving soldiers have this mandate, just insult those in service. Especially when they resort to social media to do this. This 'I know better' attitude of veterans is the worse thing that could happen to any service.
Absolutely Sir ! The Armed forces are not meant to help the politicians escape their liability of employment. The Armed forces have only one purpose- To defend the Nation from external aggression and internal disintegration. Agniveer was a very ill conceived plan for which India will have to pay for in security terms in the long run. The right person who pointed this out @ManojNaravane Sir was sidelined. A government which chooses “ Yes men” is not a visionary pro nation government, it’s a shortsighted pro party govt.

- It’s been a decade of being a Veteran. Loved every bit of the story.
- Operational Experience, Instructional Learnings , Two tenures abroad , Honoured with a Presidential Award, Leadership assignments of Flt Cdr and CO.
- @IAF_MCC gave me much more than what I ever thought of.
- The @IAF_MCC reaffirmed my faith in my belief “ Love your organisation , it will love you back more “
- After one decade of being a Veteran, Crew Room is one of the most missed part from Air Force days.
Thank you @IAF_MCC
PS: how the decade went by , will pen that down later.

- It was 31 Oct 2016 that I became an Air Veteran. Something I penned down on last working day.
“One Man : Three Identities “
This morning, I wore the lovely blue uniform for one last time. I looked at it on the hangar, clean and crisp. Name tab checked, wing correctly d square! All my 14 accouterments were in perfect place. I could sense the uniform calling me for one last time. It was going to be a hug, long enough to be felt for a life time. I wore my shiny shoes, put on the Ray Ban and started my routine journey of 25 kms. During the drive, I recollected the many changes that the uniform had gone through in last two decades. The brass buttons have been replaced with silver, the colour of the name tab, colour of the commendation badges, the belt changed (not because of my waistline) and many more changes. As I recollected number of changes, I also stumbled upon 3 things which have remained with me from the day of commissioning till today...
The I-card chain, The Wing & The Ray Ban
THE I-CARD: This simple looking identity card chain is one of the most precious belonging of any fauji. It is meant to secure your armed forces I-Card. Your identity card is you and you are the I-card. It gives a fauji an identity, an image, a responsibility and to some extent power. In the younger days the average fauji flaunts this identity by letting the chain flow through his shirt pocket and then on to his neck. The idea is very clear...the world should know I am a Fauji. Slowly it moves to rear left pocket of the jeans with the chain still hanging out a bit. As years pass by and hair start to turn grey, the I-card is confined to inside of the shirt. The I-card gives you the liberty to connect with any Govt officials in an instant. It gives you an identity amongst the crowd and once the crowd acknowledges your identity they instantly look up to you. The I-card speaks before you open your mouth and believe me it has tremendous reach. People may not go gaga over you being a fauji, but they definitely change their glance and stance. As a young officer, I remember showing off my card to a police constable and asking him for his card. Since he didn’t have his, I challenged his very identity as a police man. Your fauji identity puts a pressure on you as the crowd expects you to conduct yourself in a certain way and in times of crisis they automatically look up to you as leader. Leadership and Fauj is quite synonymous for a crowd. I remember fellow passengers wanting me to take Air India staff to task at Delhi airport due to flight cancellation issues. The I-card is the most secure and precious ornament of a fauji. It surely connects him with his fraternity and also with the civil world but at a deeper level it connects him to himself. It has the security of the proverbial Taveez. (Rakh lo, nuksan to hoga hi nahi , kya pata kab jarurat pad jaye).

I have been coming to these hills since 1984. I have seen the weather change here in a matter of minutes. Anyone who has driven these roads knows how challenging they can be. Even driving requires constant attention, judgement and an understanding of the terrain. Flying in these conditions is an entirely different challenge.
The valleys are narrow, the mountain winds unpredictable, visibility can change without warning and weather systems can move in incredibly quickly. You need an intimate understanding of mountain weather and terrain to operate here.
The pilots who fly these routes are among the most experienced mountain pilots we have. They work in some of the most demanding flying conditions in the country.
I would therefore be very careful about drawing conclusions or attributing motives before the facts are established. Let the investigation do its job. There are lives involved and the least we owe everyone concerned is fairness and respect. @nitinwelde

@mjavinod your comments abt Joshimath crash. Suggest, wait for situation to develop; rather u r prejudiced that Pilot flew under commercial pressure.🙏🏼.. this valley is narrow & adverse weather occurs in no time. All pilots follow SOPs.Ur comments are in poor taste at this stage.
