@nikkimarieJPG @aintshekeen That’s not actually true. We hear it about 3/4 mile away. Sometimes it’s faint. Sometimes it’s clear as a bell. Noise is not the only issue for people who live closer to the stadium: a lot of drivers searching for parking (and not too concerned with stop signs).

@yeriveli @nikkimarieJPG Don’t worry, she’s either lying about being from Woodhaven or younger than 25
Many of their parents were renters and in their social media influenced world the concept of home ownership is foreign to them. They believe everyone who lives here rents and moves every 2 years

people who moved to new york 5 minutes ago not knowing that the stadium was abandoned for literally like 50+ years and the concerts only started in 2013, meaning most of the people complaining, as annoying as they are, have been living in the neighborhood long before the shows

@metsgroove Was there in fact a large structure that incurred thousands of people for events when those people moved in?…. Yes there was haha

@nikkimarieJPG Okay but this is that .2 miles within distance of the stadium & the ppl you need to convince😅 not me! They're mad uptight in FHG you can't even park on the street there without a permit. You can't seriously expect they wouldn't set limits on the concert venue down the block

To be fair the stadium became active again 10 years ago. It hasn't held concerts for decades before that.

@kimwa0 Stadium has been there as long as the neighborhood. They moved there without knowing it was going to close for a bit so they shouldnt really be pissy about it being active for 6 weeks out of the year…

@nikkimarieJPG so why lie about the functionality of the tennis stadium?

@yeriveli What was the lie? Everyone who lives there is well aware of the active stadium that holds thousands of people 😐 If they didnt like it they shouldn’t have moved there? Been having concerts there since the 60s hun

This is an interesting concept bc when New Yorkers say “when transplants move to a neighborhood they want to bitch about the way the neighborhood is” they’re crazy. But ppl who lived by a tennis court that now transformed to a concert hall is complaining they’re the issue?

1. You assume the people moved there after the stadium and not the other way around
2. You assume these people KNEW about the stadium nearby which is not a given
3. If they move next to a toxic dump ide expect them to complain about that... cuz people complain about things that are bad and even if they could have known better this would be bad by any standard...

@AquamarineFB Its kind of hard to miss a huge plot of land directly in the middle of the neighborhood and theyre more pissy about the crowds lmfaoo you cant hear the concerts past a block away

@zoeebowieee It is and theyve been fighting it since they started concerts haha which is dumb because its been years and when there shitty local businesses go back to flopping with no young crowd to bring revenue theyll btch then too

@nikkimarieJPG You're talking abt Forest Hills Gardens lol homes that pass through generations of the same family. It's been a quiet wealthy enclave for decades, the noise from the stadium is relatively new for them, I don't get what's surprising about them fighting it tbh.

@aintshekeen There’s barely noise above normal city commotion. You can’t hear past .2 miles away. Its done by 10pm. 🤷🏻♀️

@notmorganmilton @nikkimarieJPG It really is soundproofed very well even within the venue once you get out of the seating area. I was impressed. Also, I think most if not all of their concerts are done by 10pm. Which is in compliance with nyc quiet hours.
