#Antisemitism is not the root cause, but a dangerous symptom of a deeper societal illness. Like a virus, it mutates over time, reflecting the decay within. The real disease is a society losing its moral and ethical foundation.

The findings of the Government of Canada’s Campus Antisemitism and Student Experiences (CASE) report make clear that hate and antisemitism on university campuses demand urgent action.
Today’s announcement by @univcan of its five-point action plan is an important step toward re places where all Canadians - regardless of background - can learn, teach, work and conduct cutting-edge research without facing harassment, discrimination, or violence.
We commend CEO @GabrielbMiller and university presidents for demonstrating leadership and committing to action. We are particularly encouraged by the plan’s emphasis on enforcement and institutional accountability.
University leaders cannot resolve conflicts in the Middle East. But they can uphold their own institutional policies, enforce standards of conduct and ensure campuses remain places where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
We also recognize Heritage Minister @MarcMillerVM's participation in this week’s discussion with university presidents and supporting a coordinated approach between governments and post-secondary institutions. The forthcoming release by @CdnHeritage of the second part of the CASE report will provide a further opportunity to advance this important work.
CIJA and Jewish Federations across the country stand ready to work with governments and university leaders to ensure these commitments translate into concrete, meaningful action.

Great to see a BC-based company like ISE becoming part of a growing Canadian-Israeli partnership in advanced technology and defence.
When Canadian expertise and Israeli innovation work together, the opportunities for jobs, innovation and security are endless.
When Canadian expertise and Israeli innovation work together, the opportunities for jobs, innovation and security are endless.
As the Canadian government and Defence Minister @DavidMcGuinty advance Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy, we welcome this important investment by Israel's Elbit in International Submarine Engineering Ltd., a BC-based company with 50 years of experience in subsea robotics.
This marks a key milestone in Canada's strategy to help small and medium-sized businesses grow and integrate into international defence supply chains.
It is also another example of how Canadians and Israelis are working together, supported by our 30-year-old Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement, to create jobs, drive innovation and strengthen the security of both our countries.

I want to thank outgoing mayor @KenSimCity for his work these past four years. His commitment to supporting our community institutions and keeping members safe has been critical, especially as we dealt with rising antisemitism. #VanPoli

The posts made by the former BC Conservative candidate for Vancouver-Strathcona were reprehensible and harmed our community by distorting the history of the Holocaust. I am thankful the party acted quickly to remove him.
Accountability matters for all seeking elected office.

@callistaryan The candidate in Vancouver-Strathcona is no longer a Conservative candidate. If elected, he will not sit in caucus.
