Thrilled @TheAtlantic highlighted our new work on flu transmission - big shout out to @nicolecrockey and our whole mitigate flu team @linseymarr @MartinEpi @anice_lowen (to name a few) and @TheFluLab for funding this ‘crazy’ idea!!
Flu viruses rapidly spread through day cares, but scientists still don't have a firm grasp on why or how. Ferrets might shed some light, writes @KatherineJWu: theatlantic.com/health/archive…

Check out our recent preprint featuring work from my postdoc in the @Lakdawala_Lab! We focus on the presence and persistence of influenza viruses in distinct respiratory fluids and find some striking differences. Collab with @linseymarr

What a thrill to hold our first, full in-person meeting of MITIGATE FLU! We had lots of exciting, interdisciplinary discussions about refining our research on transmission routes and mitigation. @Lakdawala_Lab @MartinEpi @anice_lowen @waterwiggi @petervikesland @bansallab

Excited I was able to share some of my postdoctoral research from @Lakdawala_Lab! Great to see everyone @AEESP2022_WashU. Until next year!
Great presentation @nicolecrockey @Lakdawala_Lab showing more decay of flu virus in saliva droplets than airway surface liq at 50% RH. Much less decay at 20% RH. We haven't talked much about flu virus in saliva in the past; they detected lots in oral swabs in ferrets. #AEESP2022

So excited about this project!! And that I get to work with some of my favorite people @linseymarr @anice_lowen @MartinEpi @LauringLab to name a few! Nicole Rockey will be leading this work in my lab! @PittHealthSci @PittCVR
We are thrilled to start working on a new project, Multidisciplinary InvesTIGATion to Ease inFLUenza #MITIGATEFLU, funded by @TheFluLab. vtx.vt.edu/articles/2022/… /1

Excited to share our recent @EnvSciTech publication! We developed predictive models that estimate virus inactivation by UV using info about genome composition and genome repair mechanisms. @waterwiggi @LutRaskin pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
