TAUNTING penalties are ridiculous. This is nothing, a flex by Puka Nacua after a catch. @NFLOfficiating need to scrap taunting & unsportsmanlike conduct immediately. Too much impact on games for a harmless celebration #LARvsPHI #RamsHouse

HOME teams are 44-69-5 ATS (39%) in referee Scott Novak's career
HOME teams are 1-6 SU & 0-5-2 ATS w' Novak in 2026
However, the #Packers are 7-2 SU & 4-3-2 ATS all time w' Novak, including a 3-1 SU/ATS record at Lambeau Field
Novak No.1 penen Bay & Carolina rank No.1 & No.4 respectively in penalty per game avg
@Packers & @Panthers both TOP TEN penalized teams for PRE-SNAP infractions
Novak No.1 for OFFENSIVE HOLDING & top 5 for FALSE START
The #Panthers have struggled w' OFF-HOLD, as have GB. But the Packers issues in this category have been on the road, they are much better at home
GB No.1 for ROUGHING THE PASSER & Carolina co-rank as the second highest penalized team in this category but the Panthers also rank second overall as a BENEFICIARY of these calls, whereas GB ranks last
UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS gets called at a higher rate on PRIMETIME
Novak's crew LEAD the #NFL in this category
I detailed some of the historically high AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS via penalty w' GB in 2026 earlier in the week
Novak's crew calling an above avg rate of penalties in this category, primarily via the aforementioned unn-roughness
Those are some key points & I could add more but want to keep it brief
Clearly, discipline will be paramount when navigating this crew & whoever is less penalized has an advantage
The Panthers are a roller-coaster team w' no consistency. Off that embarrassing performance Sunday they likely bounce back here
GB is seemingly in a down to the wire game each week & they have had some terrible officiating go against them late in games
Ultimately, its in the leagues & #TNFonPrime interests for these games to be close late & 6 of the 7 games officiated by Novak in 2026 have been one possession contests
This feels no different, so a lean to Panthers +3.5 pts in a higher scoring 27-24 type contest

Green Bay Packers 2026 penalty numbers, specifically on all-important THIRD DOWN plays & in the FOURTH QTR of games
The #Packers lead the #NFL#NFL4TH qtr penalty per game avg, recording historically high numbers in this category
Compounding that, the @packers have off-endering AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS via penalty on THIRD DOWN plays (& primarily in the 4th qtr)
None of this is news to Green Bay players/coaches or fans
Three games in particular this season (@Vikings @Lions & vs Cowboys) were beyond ridiculous w' officiating in the 4th qtr of those contests
There are many numbers I can detail going back two decades but ill use 2021/2025 five-yr data as comparison to highlight the statistical improbablity of the 2026 stats
Green Bay is surrendering 1.71 AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS per game on THIRD DOWN
To put that in perspective, over the past 5 seasons the next highest avg in this category is the 2023 Titans (0.94 per game) & the 2021 #Bills at 0.89 per game
GB is averaging almost DOUBLE per game of the next highest penalized team over past 5 seasons in this category
In the FOURTH QTR, Green Bay is surrendering 1.29 AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS via penalty in 2026
The next closest to that the past five seasons is the 2024 Commanders at 0.90 per 4th qtr
The bulk of Packers ROUGHING THE PASSER & UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS & ILLEGAL CONTACT penalties have occurred in the 4th qtr (see clip #GBvsMIN Week 1 w' Shawn Hochuli)
For the record im not a Packers fan, just someone that studies data
But I watch every game & the officiating in some GB contests this season has been diabolical late
The general response is "just play better" so a bad call or calls have no impact on the final outcome
That sounds great & im sure every team would love to be ahead 50-0 in the 4th so an atrocious UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS penalty has zero impact
But the fact is most games come down to the final 10 mins & if you're on the wrong end of bad calls in the 4th qtr & particularly on 3rd down, its near impossible to overcome
Its up to Matt LaFleur & Packers hierarchy to inform @NFLOfficiating & start calling out the one-sided numbers
The positive would be these numbers can't continue indefinitely & GB does have 6 more games at Lambeau Field, where they historically have received better treatment

HOME teams are an #NFL best 100-63-5 ATS (62%) w' referee John Hussey over the last decade
FAVORITES are 5-0 SU & 4-0-1 ATS w' Hussey in 2026
The #Chiefs are 9-4 w' Hussey in the Mahomes era. However, the bulk of those games (9) were at Arrofour ROAD games, KC was just 1-3 w' Hussey, most recently their controversial Thanksgiving loss at Dallas in November, 2025
KC currently rank a top 10 penalized ROAD team & Seattle a top 10 penalized HOME team
Hussey's crew are a top five enforcer of FALSE STARTS
The #Chiefs rank as the LEAST penalized team for FALSE START penalties
The #Seahawks rank as a top 10 home team generating FALSE START & PRE-SNAP infractions on opposing offenses, continuing a trend dating back to the Legion of Boom era
The impact of the 12's has always contributed to elevated offensive pre-snap infractions on visiting teams but the Chiefs offense is better equipped than most to navigate the noise at Lumen Field
The Chiefs offense is one of the LEAST penalized in 2026, whereas the Seahawks avg almost DOUBLE the offensive penalties per game as KC
The departure of Klint Kubiak has has a major (negative) impact of this offense & inflated penalties in 2026 vs their excellent 2025 numbers are another example of that
KC & Seattle rank as top 10 penalized teams for UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS. That penalty has been called at a higher rate in 2026 & particularly on PRIMETIME games
On the topic of discipline, Hussey's crew have called a disproportionately high percentage of TAUNTING & UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT penalties this decade , & both teams should take note Sunday night w' these guys in charge
Hussey's crew rank top 5 awarding AUTOMATIC 1st DOWNS via penalty, primarily via DEFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE & ILLEGAL CONTACT penalties , categories they rank second overall in per game
Those are some key points for this game
SNF gives us the Super Bowl champs vs an undefeated @Chiefs who have reestablished themselves as the team to beat in 2026
The Kenneth Walker return adds additional intrigue to the match-up
It dosent get any better than this IMO.
Seattle needs this game like blood
I have major concerns about their offense but will give them the benefit of doubt they can fix some issues during the mini bye week & extra prep time
I like the under in this game & if Seattle doesn't get a win here thats 3 straight losses & the season begins to unravel
I lean to Seattle at home & we'll find out if this team still has the championship pedigree vs a Chiefs team thats been the standard for excellence this decade on @SNFonNBC

HOME teams are 0-5 SU & ATS w' referee Alex Moore in 2026
Thats a total 180 from his first season in 2025, when home teams were 10-6 SU & ATS
This will be he #Lions f#Lionsame w' Alex Moore
GB has one game w' this crew (27-23 WIN @AZCardie's crew rank second in penalty per game avg
A lot to unpack w' these guys so I'll focus on some key points
They rank No.2 for OFFENSIVE HOLDING, calling almost DOUBLE the #NFL avg per game in this category
That looms as a potential issue for GB, who have the largest HOME vs ROAD splits of any team in this category, w' 75% of their OFF-HOLD occuring in road contests
The positive for GB, the Lions defense has been lackluster in 2026 generating those OFF-HOLD penalties on opposing offenses
Regardless, both teams need to be focused in the trenches w' these guys in charge of proceedings Sunday because they will be looking to throw flags
Moore ranks 4th overall awarding AUTOMATIC 1st DOWNS via penalty, w DEFENSIVE HOLDING & ROUGHING THE PASSER points of emphasis
The #Packers defense is a top 5 unit surrendering AUTO 1st downs
Again, a silver lining for Green Bay is the @Lions offense isn't a prolific unit at generating beneficial AUTO 1st down penalties, ranking 20th overall
On the flipside, the Green Bay offense should have success generating beneficial D.P.I penalties vs a shaky Detroit secondary in this match-up
Defensively, the @packers currently rank as the No.1 penalized unit on THIRD DOWN plays
However, Alex Moore's crew call a disproportionately high percentage of overall penalties on 1st/2nd downs compared to #NFL avgs, but then calls plummet (relatively speaking) on 3rd down vs league avgs
They currently rank 11th (of 17) on 3rd down penalty enforcement in 2026
Those are some noteworthy angles to keep in mind for Sunday
I expect a lot of penalties. I hope im wrong, but nothing I've seen from this crew suggests anything otherwise
It has the makings of a back & forth affair & whoever has the ball last wins type game
With a strong possibility that scenario unfolds, I can only look to the team catching points here
Thats the visiting team & I like the Green Bay Packers +3.5 in a shootout Sunday in Detroit

Divisional HOME teams are 17-26-1 ATS (40%) in referee Shawn Smith's career, including 0-1 ATS in 2026
The #Ravens are 7-4 SU but 3-8 ATS w' Shawn Smith
That includes 2-2 SU & 0-4 ATS in four AFC North contests, w' Baltimore favored by an aames
Smith's crew currently co-rank No.1 assessing a league high 50% of their overall penalties via OFFENSIVE HOLDING & FALSE START (NFL avg 39.9%)
Smith's crew rank THIRD for OFFENSIVE HOLDING penalties per game
An above avg 44% of Baltimore's overall penalties are committed via OFF-HOLD/FALSE START
Those numbers have contributed to the #Ravens ranking second for OFFENSIVE penalty per game avg in 2026
The #Bengals are one of the LEAST penalized road teams for OFFENSIVE HOLDING, ranking 30th overall
Whoever navigates those two penalty categories the best on Sunday will have a major advantage w' this crew
The @Ravens & @Bengals offenses rank in the bottom three as beneficiaries of AUTOMATIC 1st DOWNS via penalty
The fact Cincinnati ranks that low is stunning to me
They have consistently been one of the NFL's best at generating beneficial calls via D.P.I/DEF-HOLD etc. I expect them to kick into gear soon & move up in the rankings
Cincinnati has been solid to start the season but i think the room for improvement with this team is immense, particularly on offense
The Bengals are rested & healthy, whereas im concerned about the Ravens O-Line & obviously Lamar's availability
Add in the fact Cincinnati is getting +3pts, I can only look to the Bengals catching points w' an outright win a strong possibility

FAVORITES are 5-0 SU & 4-1 ATS w' Alan Eck in 2026
one of the lowest penalty per game avgs in 2026. Lets hope that continues this week
The Bears rank top 3 for OFFENSIVE HOLDING but only 33% of these have occurred at home
Only Green Bay has a bigger road vs home discrepancy than Chicago in this category in 2026
Eck's crew have not placed major emphasis on OFF-HOLD, ranking 14 (of 17) in per game avg
Even though its a low volume penalty, Eck's crew do rank No.1 for OFFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE
The Bears OFFENSE is a top five BENEFICIARY of AUTOMATIC 1st DOWNS via penalty
That represents a major shift for the Bears & Ben Johnson run offenses, who normally dont rank highly as a beneficiary of these calls
The #Patriots DEFENSE is a top 3 penalized unit surrendering AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS on 3RD DOWN
Eck's crew aren't No.1 in any defensive category but rank above #NFL avg for D.P.I & illegal contact
UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS is a point of emphasis w' this crew & they have always ranked around top 5 in the category since their debut in 2023
That penalty gets called at a higher rate on PRIMETIME so both teams be aware on TNF
Those are a few key points
The @Patriots enter w' 3 straight wins & one of the hottest teams in the NFL

A ridiculously soft ROUGHING THE PASSER penalty #DALvsGB
But these penalties get called at higher rate on PRIMETIME, it pushes the #NFL's narrative of player safety
That also keeps #DallasCowboys in the game & eyeballs on an otherwise underwhelming @SNFonNBC

#DALvsGB officiating crew cheat sheet
The #DallasCowboys are 8-2 w' referee Craig Wrolstad in the Dak Prescott era, Dallas' best record w' any official over a 10 game sample size
However, the #Packers are 7-0 SU & ATS w' Wrolstad in the Matt LaFleur era
All-time, Green Bay is 5Field w' Wrolstad in charge
The Packers have the biggest home vs road penalty discrepancy possible
GB currently rank as the No.1 penalized ROAD team in the #NFL, but co-rank (w' SF) as the LEAST penalized HOME team
The Cowboys & @packers defenses rank as top 5 units SURRENDERING AUTOMATIC 1ST DOWNS via PENALTY
The @dallascowboys offense is the No.1 BENEFICIARY of AUTO 1st DOWNS via penalty, particularly via defensive pass interference
Dallas is the No.1 BENEFICIARY of D.P.I calls, & the GB offense ranks as the No.7 beneficiary
Craig Wrolstad's crew currently rank No.1 calling DEFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE per game
Wrolstad's crew currently rank fifth for OFFENSIVE HOLDING penalties per game
The Cowboys & Packers are currently top 3 penalized teams in the FOURTH QTR of games in 2026
Something has to give on Sunday night, because Wrolstad's crew are averaging the FEWEST fourth qtr penalties of any crew to date in the 2026 season
Wrolstad is 4-0 OVER the total in 2026, with games averaging 53 pts.
I like the over on SNF, which currently sits at 52.5 or 53 pts
These two seem to play every season, & the games are always high scoring. I think SNF will see a continuation of that trend. The over is the play
The Packers off a dominant win & Dallas off a disastrous loss vs TB
I totally expect Dallas to be locked in after 10 days of negativity from media
Whether thats enough to get the win is debatable?
Their defense is a liability & to be fair, GB has their own issues on that side of the ball
Ultimately, home field & the "Lambeau Mystique" tip the scales in favor of the Packers & I like them at home as a small favorites on @SNFonNBC
