ENS is quietly waking up again.
• agent.eth — 42 ETH
• captain.eth — 35 ETH
• talent.eth — 22 ETH
This feels like 2022, but smarter.
ENS is no longer hype. It’s infrastructure.
Identity, routing, wallets, messages, DAOs.
All under one namespace: .eth

. @ensdomains is the smoothest app for smart wallet i tested so far.
being on Ethereum mainnet only helps avoid so many edge cases.

🔮 i come from the future and this is what’s going to happen 🔮
you’ll be media-pushed, psyoped, memed and pressured to go all in on BTC…
while ETH becomes the most important financial asset the world has ever seen.

Alibaba creating an Ethereum L2 is actually a big deal. one of the largest corporations in China, and in the world
Germany-based Deutsche Bank is building its own Ethereum L2
BlackRock and others rapidly tokenizing assets on Ethereum L1
World L2, created by Sam Altman of OpenAI, also doubling down on their Ethereum L2 as an identity-verified social and financial layer
payment processors like Visa and Mastercard are building out payment and settlement solutions on Ethereum L2
US-based Coinbase created Base, one of the most successful Ethereum L2s
Circle has more US dollar stablecoins on Ethereum L1 and L2 than anywhere else by a very large margin
everyday users, corporations, and governments anywhere in the world can’t agree on much, except for one thing:
the canonical state of Ethereum

I've always considered there's an inevitability to Ethereum addresses being replaced with #ENS names.
However, it's not been happening fast enough for my liking. Especially in the domain of naming smart contracts.
With DNS it took ten years for it to go from creation to urce attached). This month, it's been 8 years since ENS was launched, and I don't think we're seeing it used as widely across the Ethereum ecosystem as it should be.
There is no good reason why it should be used everywhere. My worry is that in our hyper tech accelerated world we live in, everyone is chasing the next big thing in #web3 is preventing them from seeing the obvious things right in front of them.
We have an amazing solution in @ensdomains for getting rid of hex addresses for users. There's also a ton of teams doing brilliant work to grow ENS and provide excellent tooling for simplifying working with ENS names, including @ENS_DAO, @namespace_eth, @NamehashLabs, @eth_limo, @justaname_id, @namestonehq, @unruggable_eth, @efp and others I've forgotten (please tag more below).
It's also fully deployed to some L2s including @base and @LineaBuild.
The Ethereum community talks a lot about improving UX, but ENS enables a huge uplift for users right now if more teams focus on integrating it into their stacks.
If it takes longer for ENS to eliminate hex in Ethereum then it did for DNS to replace IP addresses in the web, I think that's a fail on our part as a community.
The technology is there now, we need to be thinking about utilising ENS naming whenever addresses are being generated. Be that in the creation of new wallet address, or in the deployment of smart contracts as we're doing with @enscribe_.
We live in a hyper connected world, let's ensure ENS names become the default for users and we remove hex from the Ethereum user experience.

GM, this is why we created ENScribe
We're here to accelerate contract naming and build greater trust in smart contracts powering the apps on #Ethereum.
