New research alert 🚨 from my group, “Blockchain Address Poisoning” (Tsuchiya et al.), to appear at @USENIXSecurity 2025 (arxiv.org/abs/2501.16681)! As a follow-up, we also developed a real-time detection system: cryptotrade.cylab.cmu.edu/poisoning/ and @toxin_tagger (1/7)

I've signed this letter.

While I believe in less regulation, I deeply believe we need more engineering for safer sandboxes.

Particularly, we need methods to constrain Agentic Security Systems to be extremely powerful against their intended targets, while harmless against anything else.

This asymmetry is hard to navigate. That makes it interesting.

My proposal on Alignment Contracts from H1'26 is a first possible step, but much work is left.

Very exciting times we live in!

This is not an unpopular opinion.
unpopular opinion:

faculty members or TAs who use AI to write generic feedback on student assignments, or just copy/paste generic comments, have very little standing to demand that students not use AI themselves, or do any work if they do not want to

if you want students to take your class and its rules seriously, you have to take your own work seriously

The system is back up and, guess what, successful attacks continue apace…
Our detection system is down due to our Ethereum/BSC nodes experiencing many issues. We have been syncing the nodes from scratch. Thank you for your patience.

A lot of us have completely moved all asset management online. I haven't been to my bank since 2005. Yet, a lot of estate planning does not account for, or even reflect that new reality. (4/5)

Anyway, I digress. Read Jenny's paper. It's illuminating. Older people are far from being digitally illiterate, and we are not serving their needs well at the moment. And we have to fix this, sooner rather than later. (5/5)

Looks like our address poisoning work is quite prominently featured in this @etherscan blog post. Nice write up btw.

I very rarely come 'round these parts anymore, but, I just wanted to congratulate freshly-minted Dr. @quarbby on an amazing dissertation/defense and on a wonderfully inspiring life story. Fantastic work, Lynnette!
