Does the text on this page look super-blurry to anyone else?
Maybe they are trying to say that's how things would look if we don't take care of oure eyes, but I'm not sure if that's the best way to give that message

I could find historical references to people who believed that thought is worth pursuing (independently of just chasing results}, like from Wittgenstein who this quote is from, or Kant, but I don't know any who just wanted results.
If tech means you don’t have to think , I’m way way way less excited than , this tech allows you to accomplish , learn and think more

I wonder if people's attitude changed over time or if most/many people were always result-chasers.

People say that Lunar Dragon Song is a terrible game and that's probably true, but it was one of the first RPGs I ever played and I liked it at the time.

I don't understand why some people dislike crust on bread, but everyone has their preferences, so whatever. No judgement here.

I'm trying to think of client-side JS features that I like, but am struggling to think of any featurse I like more than those Vim keybindigs. They do make little things more convenient.
@htmx_org Soulds like they need more client side JS. 😅
I don't think you are a Vim user, but some websites liKe Twitter and Gmail let you scroll up and down tweets/emails using j+k, like Vim. I find it nice to use on Twitter.

Excited to have a go at defeating Carson Boss and War on Buffer once I figure out how to dump the game cartridge for @htmx_org 4.0 to emulate it (no Game Boy here 🥲).

I've been thinking about this for a bit because it's true, but working on a compiler showed me one testing advantage that functional languages with REPLs have.
You really can just run part of the compiler that produces an AST in a REPL, and manually check if the AST is correct.

@yawaramin I installed multiple libraries and at the end of it the experience was worse than what you get with rust or zig out of the box. Ocaml feels positively archaic in comparison.
Where is the next ML? The bar has beej set by systems programming languages.

That means your tests for that part can just be copy + paste of the , which feels like a superpower, especially for large ASTs which might be 100 lines long.
I don't know if languages without sum types + a REPL can compete here.

I think I prefer manually-written recursive descent over parser combinators...
Parser combinators seem to give you less flexibility in how you structure your parser since every function has the same input and the same output.

Bought the NES homebrew game "Alwa's Awakening" a few days ago. I think it might actually be one of the best games for the NES.

My sister is picky with what she eats, but she has recently taken a liking to stroopwafels.

I used to tell people to call me Humpty Dumpty, but I stopped because I fell down the stairs twice and got a little scared. 😅

There was one game I played as a kid but didn't understand until I replayed it as an adult (even though it was aimed at kids), because I can understand the characters better after seeing more of the world.

I think Suikoden 2 might be another gamelikd that for me if I replay it.
I remember some quotes from it, and they seem to match the news I see on Twitter. There are probably good things in the game that I didn't understand 10 or so years ago.

I made a small Android app that lets you type with a game controller instead of an on-screecn keyboard, because I wanted the sbility to type in situations where I can't place a keyboard on my lap, without the on-screen keyboard.
At 8 WPM today, but will hopefully get better!

Half an hour of practise this morning brought my typing speed up to 11 WPM. 😅 Still very slow, but improving!
