Getting ready for MoonBit 1.0! 🌙
We have ported `moonbitlang/async` to `moonbitlang/core`: async programming in MoonBit now work out of the box!
The new API in `moonbitlang/core` make many API improvements to `moonbitlang/async`, we are working hard to stabilize the API before 1.0.

Working really hard to nail the 1.0 release. I think @moonbitlang is almost the perfect language for agentic coding. The only gap of the sharing memory parallelism will be tackled right after 1.0 release. We deserve a better one instead of choosing between Rust and Go for agents

Despite MoonBit is optimized for agents, the master of mind behind @moonbitlang is human being! We take the language semantics seriously instead of vibing
@mattpocockuk Moonbit is the closest single-language answer I’ve found in my research and prototyping.

MoonBit is already more token efficient than Rust in our internal benchmark with the latest model. We have an early prototype which will make MoonBit 10x compile faster, this will add up to 100x compile time faster than Rust. So MoonBit will cover lots of use cases Rust cannot be used.
@bobzhang1988 Given the hype around "rewrite in Rust", can I suggest you include a section/article on why do you think someone who is interested to pick up a new programming language choose Moonbit instead of Rust?

Over the last couple of weeks, I've been playing around with @moonbitlang to formally verify parts of my chess app's UI logic. It's also cross platform because Moonbit compiles to js and native. It looks promising for agent first development.
what if you could formally verify UI?

We need a language tailored for AI instead of keep adding new complexities. @moonbitlang is the language designed for Agents when we have been working on in the last 4 years. Safe & Reliable, Iterate & Run fast. Supports Wasm, Native, Js backends which covers most use cases
JavaScript was never designed for the server. If that doesn't change soon, JavaScript on the server will be replaced by Rust.
The fix needs to happen in the engine. Sound types. Ahead-of-time compilation. Threads with shared objects.

For #Moonbit developers working on multi-backend projects, for example a full-stack app with both frontend and backend written in Moonbit, you should now be able to have IDE services amoung packages with different backends.
No need to switch backend mannully anymore!
