Let's work together to make bitcoin payments happen
Square did their part, now let’s do ours. For bitcoin to become everyday money, merchants need to accept it. But first, they’ll need a reason to. We've put together the resources to help anyone make the case that only bitcoin can defeat credit card fees: bitcoinmerchantcommunity.org

Developing new experimental markets that bitcoin has a monopoly in, is the way to solve this problem, fighting fiat in it’s turf is futile and will remain niche.

Example, Altcoin market was a Bitcoin only market, that’s now lost to stablecoins, lessons learnt.
.@jack thinks bitcoin payment adoption isn’t where it should be. We want your ideas on how @blocks, Spiral, and you can increase adoption within 5 years. Our trajectory needs changing. Here’s more on our thinking. Now we want yours: github.com/spiralxyz/bitc… x.com/i/article/2114…

awesome
this was fun to build

- fork of signal
- agent built with GDK
- using open weights model
- served via e2ee mesh-llm
- via private GPU TEE
- making private search tool calls
- paid for with ₿ over LN

a cool stack of permissionless & open source tech all working together!

@moneyball and PBJ take a look at @chamath's bitcoin to zero prediction and break down bitcoin’s three main existential threats: AI-found bugs, quantum, and math

🚨Chamath Palihapitiya believes Bitcoin will get hacked and go to ZERO.

Chamath says if AI is aimed at crypto, the obvious target would be "Satoshi's wallet," to "drain the wallet and then go short."

What's your take?

Self-custody should feel like a natural part of owning bitcoin.

With our new auto-withdraw feature, eligible @CashApp customers can buy BTC in Cash App and have it automatically moved to Bitkey for safekeeping.

Set it once, keep stacking, and safeguard your BTC with Bitkey.

Yesterday, we merged an important PR to @rbitcoin_org. There is now a --trust-peer option which lets you run it as a second class citizen on the bitcoin network. In this mode, it does not enforce most consensus rules (just enough to make the block structure fit the data store mostly).

If you're currently running bitcoin core + esplora, you may find that bitcoin core + rbitcoin provides better services to your wallet clients using less server resources. Test it and let us know.

In this mode, rbitcoin will still warn on any consensus check that would have failed, so this mode may be useful for evaluating it long or short term as a potential alternative consensus implementation.

Thanks to @TheBlueMatt for the proposal, @nitesh_btc and @coreylphillips for the many code reviews on the implementation and @grok for working through the fiddly details. The basic idea is simple, but getting it to skip and apply consensus rules in all the right places was tricky, and it was obviously important that normal rbitcoin use as a combined consensus validation and wallet serving client not be compromised in the process.

Renato Britto (@0xsatsfy) is working full time on rust-bitcoin: shipping the 1.0 crates, leading units-first work, reviewing, and migrating BDK and others off 0.32. Before stable, he tries to break it with fuzzers, mutants, provers, and LLM agents, then fixes what fails.

Bitcoin finally gets a fact-checker. @ProofOfKeags is working on BTC-verified, which formally verifies bitcoin’s protocol rules. His new fuzzing harness links the formal model to libbitcoinkernel so the two can be checked against each other. Next up: modeling script semantics.
