RT @KrondstadtBaker: @AngelaRayner @antisempolicy The Labour Party invented a fake antisemitism crisis to attack Corbyn. Nothing you say on…

"Who is bankrolling Nigel Farage's party?" asks Bridget Phillipson. "Labour will protect our democracy from foreign influence."
Right. Same question back.
Who is bankrolling Labour, and the machine around it?
Gary Lubner. South African. Former Autoglass chief. Millions.
Lord lends the flat.
George Soros. Money into Best for Britain and Fair Vote, routed through a London outpost, which is how a foreign fortune gets round a ban on foreign donations.
Pierre Omidyar. French-Iranian, eBay founder, funding the campaign groups.
Bill Gates. In for the photo call.
Swedish philanthropists. Bloomberg.
And Verbatim, which made the Channel 4 sting she is riding, is itself funded from abroad. So the watchdog on foreign money is on foreign money.
And those are off the top of my head. No research. Give me an afternoon and the list fills a page.
So the party promising to protect democracy from foreign influence is up to its neck in it, legally, through the same door, and has proposed no cap that would inconvenience a single person in the room. They held a drinks party for them in Downing Street.
The question is not who is bankrolling Farage. It is why Labour thinks the answer changes depending on whose name is on the cheque.
"Protect our democracy from foreign influence." They would not know where to start.

What interests are they seeking to advance?
Are they acting in Britain's best interests?
Reform UK are engulfed in sleaze and scandal. Labour will protect our democracy from foreign influence.

If only Terry Wogan had asked George Best about football and his winning the Ballon d’Or in that famous or infamous 1990 interview.

I’ve just read the Guardian’s on-line report about Harry Kane winning the prestigious Ballon d’Or. It mentions the fact, as do other reports in the press, that he’s the first Englishman to win the award in 25 years. Like those other reports, it doesn’t name the Englishman who did Michael Owen. Have these sports writers got an issue with Owen? As for the discussion around the award as a whole, the Scottish and Northern Ireland footballers who’ve won the award (George Best and Denis Law) have been airbrushed from the conversation altogether. The same thinking informed Stan Collymore’s listing of all the English winners while omitting Best and Law. It’s all very much an English affair as is often the case in these things. (And look at who Owen beat to win the award in 2001, now that was impressive.)

I feel like Jared Kushner being at the center of the plot that ultimately led to an American journalist being dismembered via bone saw while he was still alive should be a much bigger deal than our billionaire owned news media is making of it.

It's pretty insane that Tom Watson is still allowed to be a Labour lord after sending threatening letters to Labour MPs on behalf of his fascist boss.

Three paragraphs when two words would have done.
"Revolving door."

Mr Polanski, I know you have a reputation for being scrupulous about checking your facts, but you’ve missed an important detail.
My contract requires me to remain on leave from the Lords, surrender my parliamentary pass and forgo all access and voting rights for the duration of my employment at Palantir. I do not, therefore, take any whip.
I fear this makes me rather less useful to the whips’ office than you imply.

BRAZIL PRESIDENT LULA EXPOSING THE TRUTH:
“The invasion of Iraq was a LIE. Where are the weapons of mass destruction that Saddam Hussein supposedly had? They were never found.
The invasion by France and England in Libya was another LIE that caused enormous damage at that moment in our history. The invasion and the genocide carried out by Israel in Gaza is another very big LIE
And now the bombing of Israel against Lebanon on what pretext? And now the invasion by the United States against Iran on what pretext?” x.com/clashreport/st…

It is beyond ridiculous that this man is still a life peer and retains the Labour whip.

Congratulations to President Lula on a stunning, historic re-election.
A political comeback that will be remembered for generations to come.
This is a victory for the people, for the planet and for peace.

I would really like to see Ursula von der Leyen made redundant. She’s an unelected autocrat who has spent too many years on the side of the worst leaders on the planet.

@SaulStaniforth @SocialistPlus @lisanandy There is something extremely uncanny about Nandy; my loathing for all present day Labour politicians is visceral, but in a field of bought, and paid for, Israeli stooges, Nandy stands out as the most objectionable.

Lula no venció a Bolsonaro, él era solo un títere, le ganó a Trump, a Meta, a los algoritmos, a la tremenda ola de derecha que pretende apoderarse de Latinoamérica, a la iglesia evangélica, a las élites.
