Fraudulent documents, unsanitary conditions, and incorrectly formulated medication… the pattern is always the same. Yet despite these risks, America continues to rely on India for life-saving Rx! Why?
@ChillMode2345 We must go back to producing our own medications. 🚨 India’s Rx is NOT safe!

I’m joining the team at @X to lead Product.

I am a huge believer in @SpaceX's mission to extend human consciousness to the stars, so it’s time to make shitposting multiplanetary.

X is the best way to find out what’s happening in the world right now and talk about it. The team has been working tirelessly to make X a better place and product for the people who love it, and many have noticed the recent momentum. My goal is to help accelerate that momentum for our community, new users, and businesses globally by continuing to make this product beautiful and useful.

We are twenty years in, but it truly feels like X’s next chapter will be our greatest. I look forward to your ideas and feedback; I’m sure the replies will be measured and magnanimous.

If only… 💭
I had a dream last night.

Trump went buck wild with deportations. Just massive obscene amounts. Liberals were screaming, screaming for impeachment, but we didn’t care because everybody was getting deported.

Gas was under $2. Groceries were cheap again. Mortgage rates had dropped. Inflation was under control. People could actually afford to buy a house. Stocks were even higher than where we are now. Wages were up. Affordability was finally being tackled.

Every war was coming to an end. Ukraine was over. The Middle East was forgotten.

Nobody was talking about Israel or Iran.

We weren’t sending billions overseas anymore. America First actually meant America First.

Government spending was being slashed. The national debt was coming down. Factories were opening. Jobs were coming back. Taxes were lower. No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security. Credit card interest rates were capped at 10%.

The Department of Education was gone. The border was locked down. Fentanyl wasn’t pouring into the country. Crime was dropping.

The Epstein files? Released.
All of them.
Names were being shown.

People were being questioned. Investigations were ongoing. Nobody was being protected. Didn’t matter how rich, who they knew, or powerful they were.

Politicians weren’t allowed to trade stocks anymore. Corruption was being exposed.

The swamp was actually being drained.

The golden age had arrived.

Everything we were promised was actually happening.

Then I woke up.

If you've ever wondered why smart TVs are so cheap, this is why.

@log4j rooted his Samsung and found an always-on hot mic, automatic content recognition, geolocation, network mapping, ad targeting and user profiling, shared with Samsung's "400 partners".

A lot of it can be te a basic guide below.

What your TV is doing

The main culprit is ACR (automatic content recognition). Your TV screenshots what's on screen, fingerprints it, and sends it home to build your ad profile. Samsung does it every 500ms, LG every 10ms [1].

What is insane: it happens on connected devices too.
Plug in your laptop, your console, your work machine, and your TV can fingerprint that via HDMI [1].
He also found that if your Samsung doesn't have a mic, it'll look for one from a connected soundbar or bluetooth device.
x.com/log4j/status/2…
It's on by default, and you likely agreed to it on the setup screen you clicked through in 10 seconds.

Step 1: Turn off ACR

Samsung: Terms & Privacy → Viewing Information Services
LG: Live Plus
Vizio: Viewing Data
Roku: "Use info from TV inputs"
Sony/Google TV: Samba Interactive TV

Menus vary by model, but those are the names to look for. While you're in there, opt out of interest-based ads, reset your advertising ID, decline every optional privacy agreement, turn off voice recognition, and delete apps you never open.

Step 2: Give smart devices their own network

Put the TV, cameras, speakers and vacuum on your router's guest/IoT network. The logic is simple: these devices rarely get patched. If one gets compromised (getting drastically more frequent with AI), it shouldn't be able to see your other devices or home network.

Step 3: Block trackers for the whole house with DNS-level filtering

NextDNS (cloud-based) is easy and has a solid free plan. Pi-hole is a little bit more work if you prefer self hosting. For simplicity we'll focus on the former.

1. Sign up at nextdns.io (free tier is plenty)
2. Privacy tab: add a blocklist (OISD is a good bet) and turn on Native Tracking Protection for Samsung, LG, Roku, Amazon (see attached image)
3. Setup tab: copy your endpoint
4. Paste it into your router's DNS settings as DNS-over-HTTPS/TLS (or use the IPs + "Link IP" if your router only does plain DNS)
5. Bonus: block outbound port 53 except to your router. Some devices hardcode their own DNS to get around you

Then open the NextDNS logs and watch how often your TV phones home. It's eye-opening. If an app or update breaks, find the domain in the logs and allowlist it.

Why they do this

TV prices are down 97% since 2000 [2]. Most of that is better manufacturing and brutal competition. But once margins on the hardware hit zero, the cost moved to you.

In Q3 2024, Vizio lost $6.7M selling TVs and made $115.8M in gross profit from ads and viewing data [3]. They've said on earnings calls that they keep TV prices low to grow the audience they sell to advertisers. Walmart bought them in 2024.

This isn't a conspiracy theory either. Vizio paid $2.2M to the FTC in 2017 for tracking 11 million TVs without consent. Last December, Texas sued Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense and TCL over ACR. Samsung and LG have since agreed to stop collecting that data without explicit consent [4].

TL;DR
1. ACR off
2. Ads + voice off
3. Smart devices on their own network
4. NextDNS filtering on the router

Just FYI as someone who works in consumer tech and sees a whole lot of conversations online daily: people are starting to snap. Between the price of everything and being surrounded by these foreigners who don't belong here who are somehow better off than our own people who are struggling and the politicians who are enriching themselves and kissing Israel's ass on TV all day people have had enough. It's a pressure cooker out there.

Someone please explain to me how an illegal got to live inside the United States for 25 years and not be deported once.
Like how is it that law abiding citizens get fucked for going 10 miles above the speed limit and not paying taxes on time but an illegal sodomized the system for 25 years?
A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him.

Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country e was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r

There are seven main steps for your company to go from tool adoption to agentic org.

Most companies sit on step one, shopping for step seven technology. They need step four discipline.

Step one: tool adoption. AI tools exist across the org, humans run each one. Developer closes the lid, automations die. Somebody goes on vacation, the workflow goes with them.

Step two: context layer. Knowledge graphs per department, each behind its own API gateway. Sales queries engineering through an API. Separated domains keep agents from hallucinating across departmental boundaries.

Step three: harness engineering. Build evaluation criteria, routing logic, and quality gates before you pick a model. The LLM comes in last. Your harness is your IP and your capex. The model underneath is a commodity you swap when something better ships. If changing the LLM breaks your system, you built a dependency, not a platform.

Step four: go headless. Host every automation outside a laptop. It fires on schedule, on conditions, without a human logging in at 9 AM. Companies stall here because nobody forces the migration from “script on my desktop” to “service that runs on its own.”

Step five: governance. RBAC on every knowledge structure from day one. TTL on every agent. Dead agents are tech debt with active API keys. Past 100 tools, you need lifecycle management. Retire anything that hasn’t run in 90 days. Deprecate anything whose eval scores drop below threshold.

Step six: agent-to-agent. Stitch headless instances together within a value chain. Agent A finishes, hands off to Agent B. An LLM sits between them as a quality gate, judging every handoff before it passes through.

Step seven: step functions. Orchestrated, semi or fully automated workflows. Agents handle volume. Humans handle exceptions. The org runs on agent output.

We walked a VP of Engineering through all seven.

Told him: “You’re on step one. But over a hundred tools means step four is closer than you think.”

Wow.
A year ago yesterday, I wrote: “AI didn’t take your job. Offshoring did.”

A year later, I have even less patience for the corporate explanations.

In 2022, it was overhiring. Then restructuring. Now it’s AI and efficiency. 🙄

Companies are still eliminating positions in the US while building out similar capabilities offshore…

Of course AI is changing the workforce. But it’s also become a remarkably convenient explanation for decisions that were being made long before generative AI entered the conversation.

I’d pay considerably more attention to the workforce data than the corporate narratives.

@chamathuch.

As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers.

SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue.

That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.
