They told us it meant solidarity. But the scenes of unrest in France tell a very different story.
Palestinian flags, keffiyehs, and Antifa symbols have appeared among protesters in Paris and other French cities.
They called protests turn into riots, vandalism, and attacks on public order, that is not solidarity. That is lawlessness.
And now we're supposed to believe this growing unrest is simply about “kids protesting for better classroom equipment”?
Peaceful protest is a democratic right. Violence and intimidation are not.
You don't get to glorify an intifada, excuse political violence, and then act surprised when the streets descend into chaos.

This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.
The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.
Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.
To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

New bill in the Netherlands sparks massive Muslim outrage. If passed, it will ban the amplified Islamic call to prayer from fixed places, at fixed hours, over Dutch streets.
Muslims worldwide say they are offended and call it Islamophobia.
The bill responds to growing public ed mosque calls blasted through loudspeakers across whole neighborhoods, far beyond the mosque, several times a day. Residents say the street no longer sounds like the Netherlands. It sounds like Turkey. An imposition. A break in the public order they already had.
This 2019 video went viral when the loudspeakers were still a novelty. The novelty became the custom. The call now carries at full volume into cities where Muslims are a tiny minority. The mosque was not built so the faithful could hear it. It was built so everyone else would.
Political Islam does not treat this as noise control. It treats the amplifier as rank. The point is to present the natives to Islam and impose it on them. First the sound. Then the street feels rented. Then the man who asks for his own pavement back is the bigot.
