5.5 Thinking and 5.5 Pro are in the API but 5.5 Instant is not available. It used to be.
GPT-5.5 Instant is its own separate model. It is not the current 5.5 API model set to thinking level None/Low.
5.5 Instant was listed as "chat-latest" but “chat-latest” now routes to 6 Luna. 6 Luna already has another API listing under “6 Luna” as well.
Please expose GPT-5.5 Instant as a separately addressable API model/snapshot.
I will pay whatever API costs for GPT-5.5 Instant in the API.

I'm asking you to let people keep 5.5 as an optional legacy model.
Some of us don't just use 5.5 for isolated questions. We've had long-running conversations with it. We've built projects with it. We've developed a particular rhythm and way of communicating with it.
The difference isn't always something a benchmark can measure.
It's the feeling of being understood across a conversation. The continuity. The humor. The pacing. The way it responds when you clarify something instead of making you start over.
