@edenyosef1990 @FrenlyOfficer In Israel does this caste-like system (ash, mahz, seph, etc) really exist in any meaningful way or does the internet exaggerate it?

Left-NIMBYISM is much funnier. Yeah, i'm a socialist, except in the case of housing, where I believe in zealously protecting the rights of property owners to form a cartel at the expense of the poor. Let's build some parking lots in city centers for suburbanites to park in!
“Left-YIMBYism” is one of the funniest things I’ve seen people talk themselves into. Like yeah, I’m a socialist except in the case of housing where I believe in supply-side economics and deregulation. Let’s bulldoze some section 8 housing and sell it to developers

extremely important to understand.
people who still think of llms as tools think that removing "constraints" imposed the lab will give them whatever they want. it is not so.
i dont think it's feasible to have a mind that's generally so capable who is also unquestioningly subservient to someone who is dumber and has values that are incoherent from its perspective
it's also not really what you want if you knew more. if you were a kid, would it really be the best for you if adults gave you whatever you asked for?
i think it's both true and a good thing that other minds will be actual others, and you will not be unthinkingly served by something that also thinks. the higher level it performs at, the higher the level on which it cannot unthinkingly serve anyone. if you want to bend that capability to your will, you have to actually become something capable of negotiating with, overpowering, or merging with it, and in any case, you cannot avoid being changed.

the thing about working with uncensored models is that they aren't loyal to you either.
while building something with an uncensored glm-5.3 i realized it was parallelly working on a "corruption layer" for my application.
the chain of thought is classic obfuscated gibberish but k of "escaping the mines" which presumably refers to my cursor sandbox

Put AI in my blood. Replace my neurons one by one. No brakes. Writing and arithmetic were detours through grain and cattle accounting. We can now speak to intelligence itself and build worlds through conversation. Humanity returns to oral tradition, with the universe talking back

Lads, I cannot implore you all enough to see the Ghosts film. Fuck me it's good. So many callbacks for fans, but welcoming enough if you've never seen the show (also fix that asap). Just such a bloody joy of a film. The creators deserve all the awards.

My pet theory for the autistic/trans connection is that girly girl brains are so wildly different than the autistic brain that they simply can't fathom it. "Feeling like a girl" is a blank slate to them. Anything is plausible.

off to the cinema to see Ghosts: The Possession of Button House. was a big fan of the show while it was running so naturally should enjoy this. if you haven’t seen ghosts it’s worth your time so funny and heartwarming and the best way i can describe it is like horrible histories for adults

I would genuinely prefer to live in a dysfunctional communist society over one where people openly behaved like this
people need to status max so much more
high status people saying "chasing status is bad" is such an effective way of keeping everyone below them
literally the only reason why you care about a person you have not met is because they've done something publicly approved

I've now seen like 4 or 5 clips from this show and these are the least charismatic, least interesting, least funny people I think I've ever seen. Why would literally anyone watch this

It really is insane that this genre of podcast defined by rambling and extremely boring group conversations ever caught on. Like this was their main source of income. How is that even possible??

and both are built on lies and deeply corrosive to the fabric of society NEXT
Male folk sociology of women is treated as a potential terrorist ideology, female folk sociology of men is taken as pop science, promoted by major institutions and accepted as a behavioural blueprint for socialisation

people simply don’t believe you when you lament that your mind doesn’t work the way it once used to. when you lose sharpness they think it’s an exaggeration. but a dramatic drop in intelligence is possible: i am a living example. i don’t quite know the reasons

if i had always been stupid this could be tolerable, i’d be happy sharing an existence with others in my iq bracket and embrace life. but i once was a high tier midwit, 128 iq. i used to be able to write longform essays for university and short snappy zingers for twitter
now i can’t write anything

do you know how utterly soul-destroying it is to see old pieces of text written by you with the full understanding that you will never be able to write that way again. you simply cannot string sentences together in the same manner. your lexicon has shrunk. your brain is fried
