CHARLES CSURI | ORDO

This October, from @solos_gallery

A few months ago, @RagnarDigital introduced me to Caroline Csuri, digital artist and daughter of Charles Csuri - a connection I'm endlessly grateful for.

Over several conversations, Caroline shared her father's story in a tbook ever could. This is what I learned.

I’m so grateful to the amazing human beings who contributed to this little film we made as part of our quest to learn more about @CharlesCsuri.

They didn’t just give me their time. They brought enthusiasm, knowledge and curiosity to the process of uncovering his story and making sure it was told with the care and attention it deserves.

Incredibly thankful to Melanie Lenz, @michaelspalter, @beeple, @sebastianss527, @AlexEstorick and, of course, Caroline Csuri. πŸ’•

Lovely couple of days in Paris :) So much to see, and I only managed a tiny fraction of it. Paris really is THE art centre imo (yes London and NYC, I think Paris just does it better) with so much amazing stuff happening. Gutted I only got to see a bit of it!

Congrats to everyone ard opening exhibitions, setting up shows and hosting. Such a buzz!

Here are a few pics from ArtVerse’s beautiful space in the Marais (just a 5-minute walk from Oscar’s show at DZ), William’s gorgeous studio, hosted by him and the wonderful @hugopouch, as well as more of Offscreen, because it was just stunning and the more pictures the better!

It’s extra special when you get to record in person, but even more so when you’re in an artist’s studio, surrounded by the smell of canvases and paint.

While this is Oscar’s studio, he says he mostly just stays there and doesn’t manage to make it back to his house much because, well, art is life and life is art kinda thing.

It’s a long chat, but so well worth listening to, as you really get a sense of Oscar’s personality as well as an understanding of his work.

OFFSCREEN

ok - now, it’s my fave art fair by far.

That’s how you install video, digital, multi media and installation art in general.

Absolutely jaw dropping quality.

Oscar Murillo was in pretty respectable company, with David Zwirner also opening a second private gallery space featuring some of the art world’s greatest hits - including works by Basquiat, Barbara Kruger, Josef Albers and a few other gems.

Sometimes you work on projects that feel really career-defining, and this is one of those moments.

Being in Paris last night for Oscar Murillo’s opening, seeing the scale of the exhibition at David Zwirner, the history, and the years of dedication from both the artist and the ieved in his work, felt incredibly enriching.

There was something quite profound about the seriousness and commitment behind it all. A sense of permanence, of something built to last rather than something fleeting.

@jamiegourlay and I are so thankful to be part of bringing Frequencies to a whole new audience.

It’s a huge undertaking, but what makes it so exciting is the opportunity to build on decades of artistic commitment and bring that to an entirely new audience.
