@i2cjak I made ciws.obliscence.com last year, it's kind of... stressful.

@wallcloud Try it with a game controller. Before I did that version, I did a more realistic one, but I like the psychedelic one better.

@wallcloud I feel like we might be kindred spirits. Here's a game I made where you fly an E-6B TACAMO mission and try to deploy the 5-mile long antenna. vlfhelix.obliscence.com

@crisdobbins This is an exciting time because there's suddenly room for something new and nobody really knows yet what it's going to be. I barely use an editor anymore let alone an IDE, and we've been using editors and IDEs for a looong time.

@MaxLenormand @CraigTaylorViz I agree with both: it looks very cool, but for people who are skilled with Claude it may not add much value (it might be a nice Claude skill). I've built so much lately that feels pointless to put in a public repo. This is a very strange time for software.

@Joeopyt @theATCapp An annoying person keying up on frequency whenever someone is about to say an even number is what it sounds like.

@ATC_Guy99 @Lando3378 @thenewarea51 @theATCapp GPS jamming can disable terrain warnings (TAWS), traffic displays ATSAW, runway-overrun protection (ROPS), altimeter-setting checks (ALTSM), takeoff safety monitoring (TOS2/TLAF). The FAA says increased pilot/controller workload and reduced situational awareness are safety risks.

@ATC_Guy99 @Lando3378 @thenewarea51 @theATCapp Lack of GPS isn't an emergency, but it removes multiple layers of safety that we've had for a while. Which is not a thing that commercial aviation especially generally embraces.

@ATC_Guy99 @Lando3378 @thenewarea51 @theATCapp Here are some ASRS reports from controllers with a different perspective. "Someone will get hurt ignoring the pilot reports or deciding for pilots how much equipment can fail or be unreliable before they 'agree' or decide to stop GPS jamming."

@Lando3378 @ATC_Guy99 @thenewarea51 @theATCapp The interference in the audio clip happened at 1800Z, that NOTAM covers 0601-1300Z. Wrong time. There was another one for Point Mugu but it didn't start until 1830Z.

@ATC_Guy99 @thenewarea51 @theATCapp Where's the NOTAM that GPS may not be available that was in effect for 2029-09-22 at 1800Z, which is when this audio is from? I couldn't find one.

@thenewarea51 @theATCapp Even better, I don't think there was a NOTAM in effect for this. I think it happened about *30 minutes before* the posted time in the Point Mugu NOTAM!

@YawkYawk1 @thenewarea51 @theATCapp Yes, there is some evidence that GPS jamming by the military contributed to the fatal crash of N249CP in New Mexico. wired.com/story/a-civili…
