Happy to see my article, How Credible is the Credibility Revolution, based on my SOLE Presidential address is now out ahead of print at JOLE. I find a very high false discovery rate. journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/73…

They did a good job of editing the interview to capture the core of my forthcoming REStat paper with Kaiwen Leong, Huailu Li, and Haibo Xu on relational contracting between loan sharks and their clients.

Loan sharking is less about violence and more about trust and relationships. Kevin Lang (@BU_Tweets) reveals surprising insights into Singapore's informal lending world.

This was fun.
When economists analyze a well-conducted RCT or natural experiment and find a statistically significant effect, they conclude the null of no effect is unlikely to be true. But how frequently is this conclusion warranted? Kevin Lang @lang_econ @BU_Tweets @bu_economics discusses MGTjOX #econtwitter #statistics #research

Toured Geyland, Singapore's red light district last week to see the area Huailu Li, Kaiwen Leong, and I wrote about in our EJ article on sex workers. Two-thirds of the way through, the tour guide gave a lengthy summary of our paper. Surreal!

If you thought there were only 3 of us, think again. Meet my family’s latest and greatest economist, my sister Jenya. Version 4.0 is our best yet. She does IO and knows a ridiculous amount about energy markets. Here she shows how competitive energy markets cause poor to pay more
