This Moana scene is over 100GB, so a single Nvidia GPU can't render it on its own. You'd need a render farm or have to resort to CPU (with massive ram) for slow rendering.
On the other hand, Apple Silicon's massive unified memory allows it to GPU-render huge scenes that standard an't handle

@lafaiel Picking a old Turing GPU to gauge against is a low bar measure. Turing architecture had a functional limitation that prevented the RT logic to work concurrently with the rest of the pipeline, i.e. no shader code can run along the BVH traversal pass for example.

@lafaiel While this is extremely impressive, a 2080Ti is not a great comparision, as it was a 1st gen RT implementation. For eg, a 5050 laptop is qual to a 2080Ti. Nvidia RT gains over 30 series and 40 series is around 4x. Still an M6 is very power efficient compared to a laptop 5050.

Even the 1.5 year old rtx 5050 on tsmc 5nm can beat it
Apple needed the latest tsmc 2nm this power assuming if it's accurate as apple power readings are very iffy and they no tdp values
The Mini itself reachs 70w according to Apple

@lafaiel Apples chips r very capable, and i believe macos/ios is the best platform for gaming tbh
its a shame that devs dont really care and even the cyberpunk port is subpar with barely 3 - 4% better performance than it being translated which is disappointing from the team
