You can always count on bots to be refreshingly honest. Or maybe this is @FreeAlbertaRob's alt lmfao

Anyway, if the UCP did this, it would be gloves off, absolutely. And as the Republicans in the US are finding out, this shit can backfire. Hard.

So maybe just don't lmfao #ableg
Who cares. It’s all just about solidifying power. Redistrict the NDP into permanent opposition and the voters will forget in a few months.

You don’t need to justify anything to leftists. They would use Peter’s exact argument against us if the situation was flipped.

This is pissing me off, so allow me to disabuse Rob of his bullshit here.

I made a projection model with the commission maps (89 seat, so not including the two potential rural holdouts - even better for the NDP!).

Let's model out some scenarios, shall we? Real quick bud. #ableg
Total garbage. @DonBraid is literally just regurgitating exactly what is NDP buddies are telling him. Would be nice if he represented both sides of an issue for once.

One of the most respected court of appeal justices in Alberta history is chairing the boundary committee. It’s a lie to say that it’s the UCP. The maps aren’t even available yet (though clearly leaked to the NDP by someone).

In addition, Judge Miller and half the NDP caucus complained that there should be 2 additional seats added to account for population growth. So that was done and left to the independent judge-led committee to figure out how to do it. I assume they have done so.

Further, last election the NDP lost the popular vote by almost 10 percent and still almost ended up winning the most seats. So obviously they don’t want any change whatsoever that could level the playing field.

How do you explain that Don? Did the NDP gerrymander the map last go around under Notley? Was the 2023 election undemocratic too?

The UCP isn’t making that claim because it’s disrespectful of the people - including the judge - who did the hard work of determining those past boundaries.

Your bias is so clear Don. It’s disturbing.

Scenario 1: the NDP gets about a 2% swing across AB.

Wow! The NDP get government off that!! Thats crazy right? Powered mostly by swing seats in Calgary which were ultra-close. Why you ask? Oh 'cause @FreeAlbertaRob and his cohort are fuckups.

Note the ranges however. #ableg

@FreeAlbertaRob @ABDanielleSmith Y'all are dupes if you believe this bullshit about just "making the makes fairer."

Danielle Smith surrounds herself with losers like Rob Anderson, who encourage normal people in Calgary to flee to the NDP as the UCP self-destructs over culture war crap. This here is the problem.

@FreeAlbertaRob @ABDanielleSmith I mean ffs, look at what I can do based on the commission boundaries. NDP up to extreme highs in Edmonton and the rest of Alberta. They lead the popular vote! But they lost ONE PERCENT in Calgary and lose lmfao!

@FreeAlbertaRob and his ilk are the problem, not fair boundaries.

You know I don't see any of these freaks and bots defending the Smithmander in AB concerned about the unfair maps that punish the Ontario Liberals due to their inefficient vote. They should be screaming at Doug Ford to fix the boundaries!

The talking points have been distributed by the AB gov't lmfao

If you want votes to = seats, support PR. If you want to end the NDP's electoral advantage in the cities, stop supporting your grifter Premier and separation. If you just want the UCP to win, fuck up the maps. #ableg
@kylejhutton report map gives the NDP 3 more seats over the previous election without increasing vote share. It recommends adding some rural areas to Calgary and Edmonton, as long as that rural is an Indian reservation. If implemented, the NDP could win a majority while the popular vote by 10%.

I love how all these losers are just now coming out of the woodwork to say "actually, votes should = seats."

'Gerrymandered' does not mean 'map where one party does better because of electoral geography'. Thats called a 'skill issue', which Peter should know a lot about. #ableg
In the 2023 election, the UCP won 53% to 44%.

But had it been just 1% different (52% to 45%) the NDP would have been government.

If anything, the current map is massively gerrymandered in favour of the NDP.

Restoring balance is not the same as gerrymandering it the other way.

This "the NDP could have lost by 10% and still won!!" or "they just needed 1% more to win a majority!!!" is a) so transparent as talking points, and b) not even true lmfao.

Under the majority maps, it would require a 5% swing for the NDP to consistently barely win power.

Don't you have another fringe fascist party to go drive into the ground with memes.

Of course its a gerrymander. This bullshit doesn't address the inefficient electoral geography of the UCP - it makes it so the NDP now need to have something akin to a 12-15% swing to win. #ableg
This is so lame.

The Alberta NDP thinks redrawing some riding boundaries is trying to engineer the next election for the UCP when its in fact the AB NDP who has the ability to nearly win provincial election while losing the popular vote by 8.5%.

The original proposed map was thrown out because it was actually adding a further urban bias into the election when the urban bias in Alberta elections is already extremely bad.

To win the NDP needs several Calgary ridings to tip a toe into the very orange downtown or else they lose decisively.

The NDP are upset the map is being un-gerrymandered.

If Clayfool and Danielle "uhh now sign a Loyalty Pledge ig?" Smith wanted to actually address the problem of votes =/= seats, change the electoral system away from FPTP.

Maybe if that happened in BC, 1BC could've gotten a seat. Prolly not tho lets be real.

Ftr the NDP don't have a gerrymander in AB - competitive seats are in urban areas, and the NDP are an urban party. Thanks to FPTP, they can win based on that performance while the UCP runs up the score in rural areas.

But the boundaries aren't drawn to promote that. #ableg
@kylejhutton @nenshi @ABDanielleSmith Is that any worse than current pro NDP gerrymander?

Compare this to, say, the UCP specifically drawing boundaries to purposefully eliminate NDP seats (Lethbridge) and shore up urban competitive seats to be more UCP-friendly (Calgary and Edmonton).

That is partisan gerrymandering. It has intent to reduce competition, not balance.

Andrew you could try getting the difference between 'Gen X' and 'Gen Z' right next time you wanna go on a rant like this
I remain concerned about transparency in #bcpoli. My ask of @Emily_Lowan: 1) You claim you're a renter - who are you paying rent to? Your parents? Or someone else? 2) You claimed to be a struggling Gen Xer...how much are the @BCGreens paying you to be leader... $120,000 or nothing? I never accepted a stipend and asked the party to give it to Adam Olsen instead. Answers to these questions are important. I'm sick of hypocrisy in #bcpoli and hope you can prove me wrong.

Every province changes their electoral boundaries over years *with an independent commissions.* What is wrong with you. Run on good policies - don't cheat - and stop whining all the time. Its embarrassing. If you can't win on fair maps, get better policy or go away. 🤦‍♂️ #ableg
@kylejhutton @nenshi @ABDanielleSmith Hahaha you guys cry about everything. Every province changes electoral boundaries over years. What is wrong with you.
