On Saturday in Delhi, trains were shut, the metro wasn't running, buses were off the roads and you couldn't even get an Uber. I was expecting a half-empty room. Instead, 700 people found their way to the venue and packed it out.
That was the in-person build day for Environmental on the Bharat Builds tour, with 9,000+ students building online alongside them. When people go through that much just to show up, you know they're there to build.
And they did. The challenge was to build something that improves the environment, and the projects that came in were genuinely high quality with real potential behind them. It was great to see students make the most of the resources on AWS Builder Center, our sponsor for this series, to take their ideas from a rough concept to something that actually works. These weren't weekend demos, they were ideas you could see turning into real products.
A huge thank you to all the @awscloud mentors who gave up their weekend to be there and help everyone build, the volunteers, and to our guest speakers @SaiyamPathak and @piyushgarg_dev for making the day even better.
I'm flying back to London after a few weeks of running hackathons across India, and what I'm taking back with me is simple: the future in the age of AI is looking good, and it's being built by people who show up no matter what.

@kunalstwt Great to see this! And I really feel that someone's right to protest shouldn't be an excuse to infringe upon others' right to go to work/school/college/hospital/anywhere else safely, without hassle!
This is irritating the common people now.
