In this week’s @JAMAOnc - full published paper of a randomised trial of craniospinal vs involved field RT in treatment of leptomeningeal metastatic disease

➡️ PFS 8.2 vs 2.3 months, p<0.01

First trial that has really shifted the dial in this difficult clinical setting. #RadOnc

🔥 Can SABR work twice?
Meta-analysis shows in-field #SABR reirradiation offers 78% 1-year control with low toxicity—especially for small tumours, high BED (≥200 Gy), & long intervals.
💡 A safe, effective salvage option for recurrent #NSCLC.

Pleased to share our latest work in @RO_GreenJournal

In-field lung re-SABR achieves excellent outcomes with low toxicities.

Size, dose, timing matters. Best results seen in recurrent tumours <2cm, cumulative BED ≥200 Gy, and interval >12 months.

So what predicts better outcomes?

✅ Tumor size <2 cm
✅ Cumulative BED ≥200 Gy
✅ Interval >12 months between SABR courses

Size. Dose. Timing. All critically influence local control.

What about toxicity?
Pneumonitis ≥ Grade 2: 6.4%
Grade 3 events: rare
Grade 4–5 toxicity: only in central tumors
➡️ Peripheral lesions had excellent safety profiles.

Key takeaway: location matters for reirradiation safety.

📢🚨 Hot off the press @TheLancetOncol for #kidneycancer! shorturl.at/kAGVd. SABR vs thermal ablation;
- Despite ⏫age, ⏬worse GFR, and ⏫tumours for SABR
- SABR ⬆️effective than TA (at 1, 2 and 5 yrs)
- esp for RCC >4cm
- same renal decline (p=0.75)
- similar F/U #radonc
