The final version of my short book "The Vietnam War, Environmental Destruction, and International Law" has been submitted and approved by @CambridgeUP. With luck, it will be published relatively soon.
I am delighted to have just signed a contract with @CambridgeUP to publish a short book entitled "The Vietnam War, Environmental Destruction, and International Law."

The comments on this satirical post are 😚🤌.
Now that Abdul has won, I want to be the first Muslim American to be truly transparent and honest with my non-Muslim fellow citizens. Everything you've long suspected is true:

- Going forward, I will communicate with you exclusively in Arabic. If you don't understand, that's on you. As a gesture of goodwill, I will delay implementation until June 1, 2027. Be fluent by then.

- I will personally wake each and every one of you for dawn prayer. Every morning.

- If I catch anyone eating pork, I will immediately report you to Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Grand Muftis of Egypt and Indonesia, the Ottoman Empire, and the Muslim Brotherhood.

- Regular hijab is for wimps. Starting January 1, 2027, all American women will be required to wear a full burqa, including face covering. Violators will be summoned to mandatory compliance hearings and be reprimanded with Sharia-compliant rap nasheed disses. In my Minnesota neighborhood, these will be held in the Dairy Queen parking lot. We are currently negotiating discounted Blizzards for spectators. As an aside, Dairy Queen is being renamed Dairy King and Blizzards are being renamed Sandstorms.

- Starting next month, the name of the city of Minneapolis will be changed to Somaliapolis. After some debate, the Shariah Law council has determined that this is a respectful compromise.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Everything Sergey writes is worth reading.
New piece in the GCYILJ on the extreme illiberal backlash against the ICC: why it is happening, why it has been allowed to go on, and what must be done.
In solidarity with the Court and its staff subjected to coercive measures and other state interference.

Phoebe Okowa (Kenya) is elected to the ICJ.

Congratulations to all.

Shout out to Charles Jalloh. Next time!
Results of the first round of the ICJ elections:

Dapo Akande (UK)

François Alabrune (France)

Mahmoud Hmoud (Jordan)

Rena Lee (Singapore)

UNSC and UNGA are divided on the fifth slot, so a second round is required.

The lesson everyone should learn from Mamdani and El-Sayed being elected is that supporting #Arsenal is the key to political success.

Fortunately, there are millions of American Jews, including me, who know that none of the Democrats elected today pose even the slightest threat to us. This kind of fear-mongering is intended to protect Israel from criticism, not Jews from harm.

He's right, they weren't nailbiters. All comfortably elected the Democrat.
Ohio stays R.
Texas stays R.
Maine stays R.
We pick up Rogers in Michigan.

So many races we were told were hot contests are not only going to stay Republican, they're not even going to be nailbiters.
Community note
Democrats won control of both the US Senate and House in the 2026 midterms, with multiple major news organizations calling the above mentioned states for Democrats

Because most Americans are decent, tolerant human beings.
It breaks my heart to see the glorious United States, the most powerful empire in the world, being filled with Somalis, Muslims, and fucking communists.

How did we end up like this?

Proud to have cast my vote for Keisha Lance Bottoms, the first Black woman elected governor in American history. And proud of #Georgia, which keeps defying electoral expectations.

This is what passes for intellectualism on the right.
Marx wanted the proletariat to lead the revolution. America made them wealthy, so the Marxists switched to identity politics and weaponized African Americans, women, gays, and immigrants. But the pure-oppression narrative was unsustainable.

Now Muslims have become the new proletariat, the new Black people, the new gays, the new women, and the new immigrants, all combined.

And this time, nothing America can offer this group can change them, and their religiously mandated narrative will hold.

The communists have found their revolutionary class, but they don’t realize that they will be the first to be hanged.

Let us pray Eagleman is right. Which is a sentence no sentient being should ever have to write. Crazy times.
If Texas turns blue, there’s a real possibility we could go a very long time without seeing another Republican president in the White House.

Texas has been one of the biggest electoral strongholds for Republicans. Losing it would fundamentally change the political landscape of this country. That’s the reality.

You also don't understand it if you don't read it.
“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it.”

Real understanding is short. That’s why Deepstash condenses the best books and thinkers into 5 minutes. 📲

Dare to dream.
If Abdul El-Sayed wins tonight, there will be hundreds, literally hundreds, of Muslim candidates running in future elections at every level of government: local, state, and federal.

And if 2028 is a more favorable environment for Democrats, HUNDREDS of Muslims could be elected.

The DSA will be instrumental in pushing Muslims into positions of power at a disproportionate rate.

People have no idea what’s coming.

Absolutely. Do not change your policies in response to the election. More of the same is the only rational response.
Larry Kudlow is correct. We were too successful the first year of the Trump administration.
