I’ve been arrested twice, jailed, and pleaded guilty to a felony over marijuana—and I STILL support regulated cannabis. The intoxicating-hemp industry isn’t legacy cannabis. It’s opportunists exploiting a loophole and commodifying a plant others paid a real price for.

A lot of the “hemp heroes” aren’t legacy cannabis people. They’re opportunists who arrived after the Farm Bill and turned a sacred plant into a chemistry experiment—THCP, HHC and an alphabet soup of obscure cannabinoids. That’s not preserving cannabis culture. It’s exploiting it.

If it gets you high like cannabis, regulate it like cannabis. “Hemp-derived” should not be a loophole that lets intoxicating products evade the testing, licensing, age restrictions, tracking, and consumer protections imposed on state-regulated marijuana.

The Senate didn't "ban hemp." It
finally shut down the loophole that's been bleeding our industry dry.
For years, unregulated hemp-derived THC products-delta-8, delta-10, THCA-have been sold everywhere with no age checks, no testing, no packaging rules, no taxes, and no oversight
