We’re building a cooking app! It’s called Al Dente and we’re pretty excited about it. x.com/i/article/2100…

every growth person says never launch on a saturday. in my defense, it's actually called @saturdaymade 🤓

it's a 3d designer, planner and more for backyard projects. a real plan, bill of materials, permit and more.

I’m sorry, but I think this costume is directionally very funny 🫣
I hate SF Halloween, what do you mean you’re directionally very bad

I fear I’m having more fun building an unhinged design system / visual design lab than I am building the product…

What is a design system for when scale is not the goal?

This week, I wrote about my misadventures trying to create a "design system" for a 0-1 product.

every product i use should just be a headless mcp, that feeds into an agent, where i never have to think about anything underneath.

except for our product, of course.

in our product, customers love the ui and love us very much.

we're special that way.

Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

Working in HTML artifacts has become such a powerful way to do "zoom in" / "zoom out" design work.

In my experience, design tools have subtly siloed distinct but interdependent design tasks. Because the tools are designed to give you the "best experience" for tackling each kind ave to explore different design levers individually.

Instead of isolating design tasks like visual systems, layout choices and interaction design, HTML artifacts allow you to create custom levers to match whatever mental model you're currently using to solve a problem. And when you're done, you can just throw it away.

Today, I'm working on a new theme but also cleaning up some janky looking "just get the functionality in" screens. It's been so helpful to be able to jump between new vs. old theme and new vs. old design to verify the work along the way.

Should the typeface that the logomark is set in count as its own font in the overall brand DNA?

Because who has the time to redraw all of those screens by hand anymore?

More and more convinced that there has never been a better time to be a designer.
