Front Row tonight. I'm talking to Kirsty Wark about my fantastic, unreliable subject, Christopher Murray Grieve (aka Hugh MacDiarmid), with my wonderful, reliable narrator Deirdre Grieve (MacDiarmid's daughter-in-law, aged 90, his closest observer).

This was, among other things, a massive defeat for AI data centres
"Three states at the centre of the AI build-out - Texas, Georgia and Ohio - elected Democratic candidates who have pledged to crack down on building data centres."

"26 gubernatorial candidates across 21 states backed some form of moratorium on data centre development."

A different economics is possible. A message here for public service reform in Scotland. As Christie set out, we need to focus on outcomes, including community wealth building in real communities of place.

So, let me get this straight. Not only did Glasgow save the Commonwealth Games from oblivion, it made a tidy profit for the City and Scotland in doing so.

That sounds like a result worth celebrating

Well done to all involved

Extremely exciting. Had a tour a week or so ago, the artisan and painstaking heritage restoration work by local skilled craftspeople is INCREDIBLE.

A real gift to the city and development done well 👏
The Jenners Building will shine once again this winter as external scaffolding is removed, revealing the extent of a major restoration project.

Something about him made my heart ache.
He has been playing in all kinds of weather during these long years of war.

If you ask me what the symbol of resistance is to me, I’ll answer: t.

Russia was never in any danger of being invaded. All of those russian soldiers aren't dying to protect their country, they're dying for their country's right to invade and control other countries. They're dying for nothing.

The incessant political lobbying from fossil fuel giants has shattered the climate consensus and undermined the move towards net zero. They've even tried to convince us that new drilling is 'good' for the environment. I wonder what's been behind it........
