Announcing Drift Radio đź“»
I’ve always wanted to do something like this. To play around with SHOUTcast / Icecast streaming Internet radio interface. And implement an IRC-like chat protocol.
It’s now live give it a try.
Drift Radio is:
❌ not a start-up
❌ not a SaaS
❌ not a social media platform
It is a place to drift while listening to Internet Radio. I’m there right now listening to one of the stations. Come find me.
Don’t scroll, Drift.

Drift Protocol is live. Drifting into a station now creates a temporal chat space. No account. No profile. No archive. Just connect.

This.
I don’t understand why people say we are thinking less when we use AI. I used AI at work all the time, I find it mentally exhausting.

I thought it was just me who for these emails. Right. 2FA everything!
I've been spammed with password reset demand from my Microsoft account. At a rate of 2 per days. Not phishing, just pure brute force.
Password resets needs 6 digits they send by email. So it doesn't seem likely to find anything.
But a malicious actor which try every day, with a dump of millions of leaked account he found somewhere?
Well he will crack a few of those with brute force every day...
Use 2FA.

Don't listen to so-called influencers. Just try the model yourself.
That's how Kimi AI are promoting their new model Kimi K3.1 pro and I know all the influencers working with them and none of them are honest,I have posted about it myself but I didn't join this and never used their templates that they provide.
PROPAGANDA, I have more to share na have follow up for this

“forcing everyday Malaysians to pivot to homegrown navigation apps”
This statement is false. I have yet to see any official messaging that forces users to use a specific homegrown navigation app. Non-civil servant citizens are still free to use other alternatives. (unless there new development of this story that I have not seen yet)
Regardless of what PMX said, many folks in the osint/freedom tech circle have sounded alarm bells about Waze’s mass social/crowdsourced surveillance system. Not really a vulnerability or bug in their system, it is a feature of Waze.
I saw some tweets that say Waze does not collect user data, but this is false. How would Waze be able to show traffic info, road closures, or roadblocks if it did not collect this data from the users? Waze has a gamify/social feature where you can report things on the road.
It is less of a matter of data leak, it is more of a matter of data access itself. Who has access to the data?
Google bought Waze in 2013. In a news article from The Times of Israel announcing the purchase, it mentioned that Google and Facebook were in a bidding war to purchase the company. Facebook insisted that they move their R&D from Israel to one of Facebook’s existing facilities; Google, however, was fine with them staying in Israel.
In the same news article, it quoted the company in saying, “The Waze product development team will remain in Israel and operate separately for now. We’re excited about the prospect of enhancing Google Maps with some of the traffic update features provided by Waze and enhancing Waze with Google’s search capabilities.”
timesofisrael.com/google-snags-i…
While Waze and Google share its mapping and ads tech, Waze still remains to be a different product than Google Map, and it has its own Terms of use agreement.
In Waze’s term of use document, it still stipulates that:
“The Service is provided by Waze Mobile Ltd. (Registration Number: 514100056, VAT Number: 514100056), a company incorporated and operating under the laws of Israel, and located at 98 Yigal Alon st., Tel Aviv, Israel.”
In the “Governing Law and Jurisdiction” section, this is what it says:
“These Terms will be governed solely by the laws of the State of Israel, without giving effect to any conflicts of law principles. Any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of, connected with or relating to these Terms and the Service, will be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in the Tel Aviv district in Israel.”

It is less about potential data leak, it is more about who has access to the data.
Israel is an entity that from time to time has proved its disregard of international laws. An entity that conduct cross-border drone strike with bland disregard of civilian casualties. An entity that plant explosives in pagers and detonating among civilians.
And they have access to world largest crowdsourced surveillance system.
I’ve seen post saying something along the line, “what can they do if they know which route I take to go to my favourite yong tau fu place?”
Your data, by itself, is a single pixel. A single pixel does not tell anything interesting. When millions of pixels are put together, they form a picture. The more pixels there are, the higher the resolution of the picture, and it tells a complete story. In this case, it paints an intimate detail of the whole city and its inhabitants.
It’s not my intention here to promote TuJu or any other apps, I just want you to think about the tech you use and the data you produce.
Recently, a security researcher built a mass surveillance tool by scraping Waze reports and tracking the users behind it. I like his advice:
If you use Waze:
- Don't submit reports. The tracking only works if you actively report things. Passive navigation doesn't expose you.
- Use an allocated username. Don't sign up with Google or choose a custom username. The `world_xxxxx` usernames are harder (though not impossible) to deanonymize.
- Avoid patterns. If you must report, avoid doing it at the same times and places every day. The patterns are what enable identification.

You can use the Google Maps app without signing in via your Google account. You’ll be in limited view mode with restricted features, but basic navigation still works. Of course, there are ways to identify you even if you are not signed in, but why make it easy for them?

The recent Waze data breach report by ClearPhish has triggered an intense national conversation on data security.
But despite the alarms, forcing everyday Malaysians to pivot to homegrown navigation apps is a massive technical misstep. Here is the objective truth 🧵👇

I am beginning to think some folks here that complains about current Railway security incident, is not even using Railway, they are just farming engagements.

It's Hacktober
October has been an absolute nightmare for software
> Railway - customer secrets exposure
> LiteLLM - malicious PyPI + Docker releases
> Zeabur - infrastructure breached
> OpenCode - AI API keys exposed
> OVHcloud CLI - official binaries backdoored
> Rank Math PRO - malware in official plugin
> TeamUpdraft - customer data compromised
> ConnectWise - cloud backup identities compromised
> Tensorlake - npm package infected
> SubQuery - backdoored npm package
> GhostAction - GitHub repos with malicious workflows
> PHP - critical RCE vulnerabilities
> Node.js - security vulnerabilities patched
> eMudhra - certificate authority keys compromised
> Tailscale - eMudhra incident
At this point, the biggest security risk might not be the code we write, but the code we trust...
