At @NYSE talked today about space lasers, space data centers, undersea cables, national security issues, cell towers connectivity
Video soon
@trans_celestial is building the Fastest Network in Space and we want to give lasercomms to every single satellite, tower, data Centers, and whoever needs high speed non jammable comms

9 of my fav picard episodes thatbi am watching this weekend.
TNG was central to my inspiration to spend my life in space industry (along with Carl Sagan)

Oh Captain, My Captain 🫡
Thank you for Jean-Luc Picard for the leadership lessons and value/
belief systems I have incorporated in my life - infusing them into my own strategy and leadership at Transcelestial! The character and the actor in my mind were always one and the be less without him around.

may i counter propose? instead of viennese coffeehouse i recommend a shenzhen-esque hardware super factories where engineers can hang around giant machines assembling orbital data centers or mega mechas and discuss RL for actuators
a friend and i were talking about seeking Viennese coffeehouse culture in SF. the dream is a spacious, cozy neighborhood cafe where we can spend a Saturday or Sunday reading, writing, chatting, and inviting friends to drift in and out throughout the day. maybe it turns into a bar me it becomes a weekly ritual where you can just show up and find familiar faces, no plans needed
does this place exist? what’s the best cafe in SF for this?

Introducing Gemini 4 “Hallucinates Less” model
Introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, it's a big jump over Argon which we released just 2 weeks ago.
Gemini 4 Carbon is SOTA on cyber, long horizon tasks, ranks #1 on Artificial Analysis V5, significantly improves on usability in domains like coding, and is more aligned.

I wrote a small sci fi story once where in the future a sophisticated hacker injects a malware in the firmware of hand actuators of home humanoid robots to slowly over time adding an offset in numerical values.
the robot AI would overtime adaptively adjust torque response. then one day globally that malware at a coordinated time removes that offset. robots in every home start breaking doors, plates, tearing clothes and in some cases even crushing human babies, bones etc (because they wouldn’t know what force to apply!)
Message was a warning on carefully bringing humanoids into homes.
Anyway this looks cool and big success to Silica team!

Introducing Silica.
We make actuators 50x more sensitive at an affordable price, so that robots can feel the world around them.
When I was at Apple, I developed technology that helped humans live more creative and connected lives.
Now I make hardware for the training age, n to share that world with us.
We just opened pre-orders. Check out silicamachines.com to learn more.

Doing anything frontier is hard if you don't bake in revenue diversification - a lesson we knew from Day 1 at Transcelestial.
Everything we have built so far is borrowed money - equity or debt. The reason we can do space now is because two other business lines which do extremely well on their own - Terrestrial (Telecom, Enterprise, ISP) revenues which grow 2-3x Y-on-Y constantly with minimal sales input now + Defence business (100%+ ROI). Both fueling and acting as backstop to our more ambitious space connectivity business.
Hard for other space companies or new lasercomms clones to try and match. Debt will be unavailable or extremely dry when scaling for them, while we can keep underwriting based on other areas.

@chamathuch.
As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers.
SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue.
That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.

Was epic to be on stage with @tammiesiew @pebble_bed and dr. cherry murray and alex and glenn!
honestly I just wanted to interview Cherry!
- acclaimed physicist and academic leader who has served as the Dean of Harvard's School of Engineering
- Director of the U.S. Department cience under Obama administration
- Senior Vice President at Bell Labs and decades at Murray Hill doing core fundamental physics research! Bell
labs is my fav org even ❤️

When Lip-Bu Tan considered taking over as CEO of Intel, friends at Apple and Amazon told him it was "too late" to save. Another warned him: "People only remember your last job."
He took the helm anyway.
Here is the inside story of Lip-Bu’s radical playbook to turn Intel around—and the career lessons that shaped him. 🧵👇

Lip-Bu’s 3 core lessons from a lifetime in tech and investing:
1. Remember Your Roots: Honor your parents' sacrifices and your home community. Go get global experience, then give back.
2. Stay Humble: Recognize how little you know. Surround yourself with people smarter than you and never stop asking mentors for help.
3. Climb the Right Mountain: Life is a marathon. Protect your health and family, find a motivating purpose, and make sure you’re climbing the right mountain.

Was amazing to hear the passion and drive today from him today esp when he could’ve just chilled with his grandkids rather than taking on such a huge challenge!
