After careful consideration, I'm done calling out the ills the common man faces at the hands of the APC govt.

Why? Everyone is aware of the ills they and us all face but some strongly believe that their own unique cases will be different. Either through gigs they'll have from the government or through access their ill-placed loyalties will grant them.

Calling out ills also makes me and some other genuine folks feel "special" that we are convincing people who are otherwise ignorant of the issues. We have taken up parenting positions and the ignorant kids need to be "put through."

The truth is, the Nigerian psyche is curious. For instance, people were aware of the dangers of MMM, but that won't stop them from putting their monies in similar multi level marketing schemes. Take it or leave it, people are knowledgeable and aware of how terrible this government has been.

Your admonition to them to be aware is because you've convinced yourself you are doing something special. You are not.

The market woman under the hot sun, the bus drivers locally and interstate, the lecturer in institutions, the bricklayer, are closer to the action of decadence than we typing on X.

There's no one not voting for Peter Obi right now who needs convincing to vote for him. There's no one suffering under the Tinubu Government that needs reasons to not vote for Tinubu.

I only identify 2 gaps that needs closing pre- and post- election:

1. Adequate physical sensitization on NDC's logo and voting modalities.

2. Defending our votes and keeping INEC accountable.

That's all. Whatever isn't geared towards the above is just a wild goose chase. The intention may be in the right place but like a barber's chair, we'd just be rotating at a point.

The average Nigerian is knowledgeable enough.

Good advice. A few years ago, I wasn't active on X but I was active in a group on Telegram.

Had a spat with a lady on that group, next thing I knew a few days later, I got a call from the Compliance Lead in London telling me that the social media rep reached out to him about a message they got through the company's social media account.

It was filled with the most gory accusations and reasons for why they should sack me. My heart sunk. Went back on the Telegram group and discovered that that person kept saying, "threat fulfilled" and "you will see."

The Compliance Lead advised me to pursue legal options, but I felt it will raise unnecessary dust, so since it wasn't on Twitter, I just kept mum and let every subside.

If you are still building your career, avoid putting your current company on LinkedIn. No matter how cordial and easygoing you are, they'll mess you up before you can defend yourself.

These days, I don't care anymore but I still don't put my current organisation on LinkedIn unless it's my own business. Be safe out there.

There's a need for strict documentation and accountability in subsequent support groups' fundraising activities.

It's simple:

1. Create a neutral account.
2. Add different stakeholders as co-owners of the account with various access levels.
3. Let every outwards transfer have approval gates for internal control.
4. Let there be a public facing platform for tracking inflows and outflow of transactions (redact names and other sensitive details).
5. Centralise outflows and inflows, and decentralise reporting. In other words, let there be a single source of truth for received monies, and various 'democratized' sources for reporting.

Number 5 is extra important because from the meetings so far, I realize that @EmirSirdam was too trusting with quite a number of folks. Unless you can vouch for someone from their father's house, you need to set up instruments to protect yourself first.

Support groups are still very much needed and we can work together to create something robust and improve accountability because there's so much work to be done.
