On the shore of Lake Tahoe, $3.6M gets you a 2-bedroom condo.

The same $3.6M in Patagonia gets you this:

A stone and timber mountain house on a forested hill above two glacial lakes. The heated indoor pool is wrapped in glass and looks right out at the water and snow-capped ft. Every room upstairs opens onto a huge deck facing the lake. Gym, wine cellar, and lake access to launch your boat and fish the mouth of the Correntoso, one of the most famous fly-fishing spots in Argentina.

The new Tahoe is 6,000 miles south.

The Plan B passport options for Americans completely changed this year:

- Italy's top court upheld the law ending citizenship by descent for most Italian-Americans.
- Portugal pushed citizenship to 10 years for golden visa holders.
- The EU told the Caribbean passport programs risk losing visa-free access to Europe.

Then Argentina announced citizenship by investment.

$350,000, straight to a passport. No residency period and no requirement to live there. A couple with 2 children under 18 comes to $500,000 ($100K for the spouse, $25K per child).

Applications are expected to open before the end of the year, through authorized agents only.

We’re partnered with a member of the consortium that has been advising the Argentine government on this program. We'll be getting individuals and families through the application process the moment it opens.

In Jackson Hole or Big Sky, $2.5M gets you a condo. In Patagonia, it gets you a brand-new glass mansion that looks like it was built for a Bond movie.

Every room faces a huge glacial lake. Double-height glass walls and a stone fireplace that runs to the ceiling.

7,700 sq ft rest. 5 suites, each with a walk-in closet, and a mudroom built for ski gear.

20 minutes to the biggest ski resort in South America. 25 minutes to the airport.

Wyoming and Montana aren’t a true escape anymore. Patagonia is.

South America has a 10x better version of every place in the USA, for a fraction of the price.

If you like New York, Boston, or Chicago, go to Buenos Aires. A huge, walkable city with old buildings, great food, and a neighborhood for every type of person.

If you like Colorado onia. Glacial lakes, forests, and the Andes mountains in every direction, with all the space and privacy you could want.

If you like California wine country, go to Mendoza. The biggest wine region in South America, right at the foot of the Andes.

If you like the California coast, go to Florianópolis or the coast of Chile. Florianópolis for surf towns and island life. Chile for a thousand miles of cliffs and empty coastline.

If you like Seattle or Portland, go to Chile’s Lake District. Volcanoes, old growth rainforest, and lakes everywhere.

If you like Miami, go to Rio de Janeiro. Beaches and insane nightlife. It’s a city built entirely around the ocean.

If you like Texas or the Midwest, go to Paraguay or Eastern Bolivia. Hot, flat, cattle country, cheap land, and friendly people who barbecue every weekend.

If you like the New England coast or the Hamptons, go to coastal Uruguay. Punta del Este is the Hamptons. The towns up the coast are Cape Cod 50 years ago.

There’s a place for everyone. And it all comes with deep affordability.

Argentina now has the best Plan B passport in the world.

$350,000, one-time, for Argentine citizenship. No requirement to live there, as announced so far.

The passport ranks 16th globally, with visa-free access to 169 destinations, including Europe and the UK. That's the can buy anywhere right now. The best Caribbean one gets you 157.

You keep the passport you already have. Argentina allows dual citizenship.

It also gives you easy residency across most of South America through Mercosur. Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia.

Family pricing: $100,000 for a spouse, $25,000 per kid under 18. A couple with two kids comes to $500,000.

And the alternatives keep shrinking. Malta's program was struck down by the EU's top court last year. Some Caribbean passports have already lost visa-free access to the UK and Europe.

Applications open before the end of the year. The final rules aren't out yet.

We've helped dozens of families get Argentine residency and citizenship through naturalization. CBI is next.

Uruguay has the same old-world coastal life people fly to Italy and France for.

Like this 1912 mansion in Piriápolis, 650 feet from the beach.

Fully restored. 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3,900 sq ft, and a rooftop terrace over the bay.

Two saunas and a separate guest apartment.
beach city with a long waterfront, a marina, and restaurants along the bay.

The house was built by Francisco Piria, the man who founded the city.

$675k.

Uruguay is safe, stable, and calm, with a coastline full of gems like this.

Uruguay isn't expensive.

Living in Montevideo costs half as much as Miami or Los Angeles, around 40% less than Paris, and 20% less than Lisbon or Barcelona.

And matches the cost of living in Mexico City.

Those are Numbeo’s 2026 numbers for living costs and rent.

You can find in Montevideo for around $700–800/month.

Go inland and you can find a two bedroom apartment outside of Montevideo for around $400/month.

On the coast, it's easy to find a new two-bedroom house in a small beach town for $600/month.

Uruguay is the best Plan B residency right now, and anyone coming with a US/EU income will massively upgrade their lifestyle here.

South America already has the places Americans and Europeans pay millions of $ to live in.

Bariloche, Argentina vs. Lake Tahoe, USA:
Mountain homes, huge lakes, endless pine forests. Summers on the water. Skiing in the winter. The Bariloche region is deeply untapped compared to prices.

Mendoza, Argentina vs. Napa, USA:
Vineyards, wineries, country houses and culinary experiences. Except you have the Andes mountains as a background which provide 10x better views.

Rocha, Uruguay vs. the Outer Banks, USA:
Long Atlantic beaches, dunes, little surf towns and space between houses. This is proper beach-house country. Very similar beach-house lifestyle, but one is cheap and undiscovered.

Punta del Este, Uruguay vs. the Hamptons, USA:
The regional escape from the big city. Beach clubs, good restaurants, big houses and marinas full of yachts. Beaches for swimming and surfing. Calm, wealthy communities along the coast. Busy in summer, quiet the rest of the year.

Florianópolis, Brazil vs. San Diego, USA:
Surfing, hiking, beach neighborhoods, outdoor lifestyle. Florianópolis is greener, calmer, and deeply affordable vs. San Diego, but both are known as some of the most laid back beach spots in the world.

Buenos Aires, Argentina vs. Madrid, Spain:
Completely walkable, wide-open streets, beautiful buildings, cafés, restaurants, and nightlife that goes late. The big-city lifestyle people pay European prices for, with significantly cheaper property prices.

These are established places with their own culture and their own reasons to live here. The mountain house, the wine-country property, the coastal summer home, the big-city apartment. It all exists down here.

People act like the good life is only available in a handful of American and European locations.

It isn’t. You’re overpaying for a familiar name.
