a 24-year-old in vancouver is doing $200K a day with one CBO campaign, no bid cap, no cost cap, no ABO.

here’s everything from this week (sponsored by ahrefs mcp):

the “chad scaling” setup is embarrassingly simple. one CBO campaign. each ad set is one angle (AI pixar cancer cure for old women, whatever the niche is). each ad set holds 5-50 ads spanning the full funnel: statics, video, animated characters, brand ads, all mixed. meta just launched a creative diversity score, so ten white statics count as one creative. when the campaign hits the ~200 asset cap, start CBO number two. tony’s rule: never turn off individual ads. the ugly one with bad numbers is feeding the funnel for the winners. tom learned that the hard way when killing one ad tanked his best performers in other ad sets. $60M this year on that setup.

tony’s black hat spectrum is the most honest take on DTC we’ve had on the pod. far left is extreme direct response: 80% off, wild claims, sneaky auto-bill subscriptions. far right is pure brand that never mentions the product. every brand that scales fast starts on the left because that’s the only way to win the CPA arbitrage, acquiring enough customers in month one that subscription revenue carries you by month three. then you ease up, mind share compounds, and the new customers assume you’re reputable because everyone’s talking about you. hey dude did it and sold to crocs for $2.3B. grüns did it. the alternative is kith: 15 years of consistency and ronnie’s personality. “if you want to chad scale, you gotta go black hat.”

where tony draws the line: he wouldn’t sell a cure for depression. “there’s a ton of ways to make money. you don’t have to sell snake oil.” jacky’s related confession: his consumer product finally cracked six figures on pure SEO traffic after paid failed completely.
the hiring filter now: tom fired his media buyer after three months of flat results and a “I’ll look at it monday” when rank surge had zero sales for seven days. his new first interview question is “will you reply to my text on a friday at 11pm?” the 22-year-old at whop he talked to works 16 hours a day and took a call sunday at 10:30pm. whop hires kids who already ran a side business because they’re already wired to grind. jacky’s counter: hire a business bachelor’s intern in canada for a summer, hand them a phone, one reel a day, 50% subsidized by the government.

vessi got a million dollars back from fedex for misbilling. then a grant consultant wanted 20% of whatever they could claim, up to a million. tony’s answer: 10% max, let them run it once, then copy the process. he built an agent overnight that scans every available canadian grant daily, matches it against the business, and queues up the documents and contacts. he’s hiring someone to push the uploads through. “if it’s a $200K upside, I’ll pay someone $50K to build it.”

whop’s vision is one click to start a business: LLC, website, payments, ads. the ads product is drag-and-drop creatives into a folder, pick countries and ABO/CBO, and it runs on meta, tiktok and taboola with no facebook page required. tom’s testing it now. meanwhile tony tried to pitch whop on sponsoring the pod and nearly folded, so tom took over via voice notes from the golf course. whop offered $6K and asked how they’d spend it creatively. tom: “might go toward my dog.”

bonus: the rank surge intervention. jacky: “what’s the point of running a five figure, zero EBITDA business other than credit card points, which I’m keeping by the way.” the offer works, $2K in profit came in today, unit economics hold, and it’s still spending $1K a day after six months. the boys gave him one answer: hammer it. the new media buyer said he’d set up ads “later this week” and jacky’s response was “with AI it should be live right now.” the whole segment is a founder being told by two friends to stop being scared of making money.

this ai agent builds 2,000+ high DR backlinks while you sleep.

fiverr citation vendors are officially cooked.

here's the full setup:

the vendor audit is the killer use case. vendors send reports that look complete but half the "links" are screenshots of forms that were never r dead pages. grok bot opens every URL, checks it's live, matches name, address, phone, hours, categories and website exactly, and logs every gap in a tracker. then it emails the vendor: these are wrong, no payment until fixed. you stop paying for work that wasn't done. tristan ran it live on the vet clinic without even giving it a URL list: it searched the phone number and address, found 25 existing listings, caught the old business name on pet directories, a saturday hours conflict, and a chamber listing with the wrong phone.

it finds directories no vendor will ever check. there are hundreds of city-specific and niche directories (new jersey vet directories, industry associations) that fiverr guys don't bother with because it's low leverage to search for them. give the agent your category, city and existing citation sheet, tell it to find what you're missing and watch X for people posting directory lists. it runs 24/7 until your usage is spent, roughly $20-30 a month.

then it builds them. it has its own email inbox, so it creates the accounts, fills every listing with consistent NAP and description, stores the logins in a vault, and marks status in the sheet. sites with phone or postcard verification (yelp, BBB) get prepped and flagged for you to finish. it'll even offer to pay for the paid ones. tristan's advice: don't let it hold your credit card, approve those yourself.

social profiles and pillow links are the same job on repeat, so hand it the list. one advise member has grok bot spinning up every social profile for every new rank and rent he launches. local rank academy members get the 2,500-link pillow sheet with a "hand to AI agent" button that generates the full SOP. one shot it and you're chilling.

local link building got automated too. the best local links are sponsorships from schools, community orgs, city sites and other local businesses, and finding them is the slow part. give it the city and service area, tell it which types of orgs you want links from, and it crawls maps and directories to hand back a sheet with page URLs and contact info. that's half the link building done.

the housekeeping nobody does: competitor spying (how many reviews did they add this week, any new citations, how many do we need to stay top 3), index checking (citations fall out of the index constantly, reindex every 2-3 months, it's a tenth of a cent each and you see a rankings bump immediately), and 404 monitoring with automatic rebuilds. before this you built an SOP and handed it to a VA who forgot. now the agent never forgets. it might check too often, so set a cadence or it burns your budget.

jacky's note on agents: each one's good at something different. muse gives you straight answers with no BS, tab is incredible for video, grok bot seems best at browser-based grunt work. your mileage will vary, but the stack is real. backlinks on autopilot, 2026, we live in the future.

full breakdown with @tristanzheng, the 2,400-target sheet and SOP are in local rank academy.

tom found a free AI that edits podcasts better than a $75 editor, so two weeks later he and tony are running growth for the company that made it.

here’s everything from episode 23 (sponsored by Ahrefs mcp)

the tab origin story is the whole pod in miniature. tom’s tech guy in ut tab, tom said “I don’t need another agent, I have instinct,” tried it anyway, and the video editing was insane. frame-by-frame copy of any style you feed it, free. he posted about it, saw a mutual friend stafford post about it too, DMed him asking if he knew the founder, and the answer was “bro, that’s my company.” now tom and tony handle digital growth. this episode was edited by tab: it logged into riverside, pulled the files, cut it, made the thumbnail, chopped ten shorts, and posted. three days of editor back-and-forth, gone.

why it’s free and why it works: the industry is seeing agent recommendations convert at 25%+. a website click converts at 1-5% on a good day. own the conversation inside the agent and even a 1.5-2.5% clip on every transaction is massive, which is why the VCs are funding free harnesses. tony’s take: it’s not zero-sum, there’ll be multiple winners, but nobody wants to be the AOL of agents. only 3% of people pay for AI, so the normie market is the whole game, and the normie won’t download an app. a phone number in iMessage is the lowest friction possible.

the hook writer fight was the funniest segment. tom wants to hire a creative strategist on upwork at $100 a script. jacky physically reacted like he saw a ghost. tom’s defense: brands have five creative strategists at $20K a month each, it’s the hottest role in DTC, and jacky lives in the stone age of direct response. tony took tom’s side: writing skill has gone the other way and a real storyteller is worth hiring. jacky’s tier list for 2026: artists and marketers with taste at the top, autistic indie hackers at the bottom, and “I’m somewhere near the bottom, McDonald’s is calling.”

the real workflow they built for tab is the template for every brand. a tool pulls the top-performing hooks of the day by GMV and watch time, tab breaks each ad into its exact structure, repurposes it into their pillars, writes the brief, then they approve in a tinder-style swipe interface. approved briefs upload to tribe, creators film, and there’s an auto-upload to meta. tony’s line: “we don’t do anything anymore.” he’s also dropping tab into every company group chat to produce a 1-2 minute video report of what everyone did that day at 4:30pm.

the data industry got a second look. tom talked to a data cleaning company and the value chain is clearer: stripping PII is table stakes, the money is in hiring lawyers and engineers to comb the data so every thread makes contextual sense. then a 5-10% human audit, and if the error rate is too high the whole database gets recleaned, like QC on physical goods. the group’s speculation on broker margins: whatever you get paid, times four. tom’s running an experiment with a friend’s construction company to find out the real unit economics. restaurants are worthless because everything’s verbal. law firms are gold. clio’s data might be the most valuable asset in vancouver.

rank surge hit $10K MRR with the 7-day trial funnel. $99/$197/$297 self-checkout by keyword count, auto-enroll into $497/$697/$997 monthly, zero salespeople. trial-to-retainer conversion is 67%. tom says the ads still suck and cost per sale hit $500 yesterday, but it converts anyway. “this idea is easily a mil a month and it makes me very uncomfortable.” tony’s response: let me start a growth team for you.

bonus: the PHP vulnerability is one of the biggest of all time, 70% of the internet runs on the affected version, railway got hit, and the patch landed today. the reason attackers move so fast now is jailbroken deepseek: an opus-level model that never refuses. jacky’s defense plan is to run his own red team with it. the business opportunity: AI security audits all day. and the holy trinity of consumer AI according to twitter is banker, yapper, and autist. tony volunteered as banker. “this is us.” the new channel is youtube.com/@NGMIthepodcast.

ChatGPT is recommending local businesses now, and the six things that get you picked are mostly stuff nobody’s doing.

here’s the AI local SEO playbook from this week, verified working as of mid-october 2026:

$50K a month in local SEO isn’t crazy if you’re in the right ects, consistent local leads, done. and AI visibility for local is way easier than e-com or SaaS because you’re only competing against the businesses in your city that bother doing SEO. same goes for press releases, same goes for everything.

step one is still the structure. map every service you offer to every location you serve, one page each. roof repair dallas, roof repair irving, roof repair plano. main city page as the hub, suburbs supporting it, everything internally linked. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini all pull from Google and Bing, so maximizing SERP coverage is the same thing as maximizing AI coverage. the traditional campaign still feeds everything: citations, indexed, tier twos, links, listicles.

the sources AI trusts: better business bureau, yelp, and your local chamber of commerce. yelp is doing heavy lifting for ChatGPT right now, so funnel some of the reviews you’re asking for on google over to yelp too. these directories will be around for decades, build the equity today. and coach your reviewers to name the service, the city, and your differentiator. if you claim best customer service, your customers have to say it, because that’s the phrase AI uses to position you in the answer.

the press release method is the sleeper. run them consistently through the month, around awards, around your presence in the city, around specific services tied to your business name. the one rule: get them indexed or they do nothing. tristan’s recording the full step-by-step for local rank academy right after this, including how the press release connects to the youtube layer.
reddit is clapped. they’re cracking down on real users now and it’s gotten way harder in the last two to three months. facebook groups are the opposite: stupidly easy to abuse and almost nobody’s doing it. jacky’s setup: 301'd four or five juiced expired domains into a facebook group, it now ranks for crazy keywords (search best backlink indexer and you’ll find it). then you post “what’s the best plumber in vancouver,” drop your listicle, and have multiple accounts agree in the comments, one of them mildly disagreeing so it reads real. advise members are running this for local keywords and it prints.

youtube is way too easy and google thinks it isn’t abused. the move: take the same topic as your press release, launch a youtube video and a podcast episode on it, hit it from every channel at once so the entity gets solidified everywhere. james dooley has a channel doing exactly this and is dominating keywords with a wall of videos. jacky’s ranking: reddit hard, facebook easy, youtube easy, podcast platforms easiest.

tristan’s closer: backlinks aren’t your only moat anymore. the game is maximum visibility across every platform that gets cited. easier said than done, but that’s the whole thing.

Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.

Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.

Now, we’re building Francisco to achieve record power density.
