A lot of depression is caused by late-stage capitalism. Lack of security creates 'no hope' mentality. IRL community helps. Ingratiating yourself to lots of geographically-proximate people with shared values will make you feel that people will have your back if the worst happens.
what to do when this is your actual mindset and no you can't say therapy

Granted, this is much harder to do in rural or suburban areas. Having a broadly shared interest like music and sports can help. For me, having a dog was really good because there is an inherently social atmosphere to a dog park.

If the social element to anti-doom is unavailable and meds aren't easy to come by, quickest solution to peace is meditation. I've found that looking up a long ambient piece and forcing myself to concentrate on listening to it without distracting myself with anything else works.
