Inbound leads should go to the reps who earn them, not the ones hoarding them.

Jack talks about a system he created to stop AEs from sitting on deals and push them to be more productive.

Most security protects what’s inside your firewall. Outtake focuses on everything outside it.

Steve talks about how Outtake is building the trust layer for the internet, mapping what’s real and what’s fake about your company across social media, the dark web, and the rest of the public internet.

the #1 skill in sales

by far

is company selection

and choosing a product is has so much demand that your job is to close (80%+ of the time)

not to prospect all day to companies who have never heard of your product before
Many GTM problems aren't GTM problems. They're "we built something nobody urgently needs" or “we don’t understand our users” problems wearing GTM clothing. I said what I said.

I keep getting asked to do "pay-for-post" on LinkedIn

meaning like they only will pay for you for a LinkedIn post promoting their product, and that's it

I'm very anti-this

but pro-ads in other mediums (podcast, blog, etc)

feels slimy / selling your soul

am I off base here? how do people view one or the other?

Your fastest responder probably isn’t your strongest champion.

Steve talks about finding the person in the corner asking the uncomfortable questions, the one already thinking about how your product fits their plan 18 to 24 months out.

That’s the champion you need.

congrats to @JiquanNgiam + the @mintive team on their seed round

been awesome working with their team for the founding GTM build out as well as being part of this round

excited to see you guys continue to crush it!
Every AI agent at work runs with the access of whoever set it up.

That’s why security keeps saying no.

Today we’re launching @mintive: every agent gets its own identity and permissions, the same way every employee does.

We’ve raised $11M, with @CowboyVC leading our latest round.

Steve shares one of the best pieces of advice he’s gotten over the past few years: know when to zoom in and when to zoom out.

AI can help with ideas and first drafts. But if it’s doing everything for you, you lose ownership of the content.

The final output is you. If the ou’re the one who gets blamed.

The goal isn't to make selling harder than it needs to be.

It's to build the skill to sell and find a product people genuinely want to buy.

What makes a founder stand out when the odds are stacked against them?

Career trajectory, the people backing them, and the pattern behind their decisions.
None of it guarantees success, but it can help you make a better bet.

all team sports for kids are great; teaches friendship, fighting through failure and adversity, etc

I played travel baseball growing up - and while it had those things, was bad and largely not the best use of time because:

1) way too much travel to weird places like middle of no where Georgia

2) expensive

3) I stopped playing after 18

so much better to learn sports you'll play for your whole life (golf, tennis, running, etc)
Since 2019, tennis is up 72% among kids 6–12. Golf is up 55%.

Parents finally figured out which sports lead to success and can be played for life.

awesome article from my friend @Jack_Raines

not in status anymore: careers in finance, consulting, etc

aka trading energy/interest for money/status

in vogue roles in 2026: being in AI (for obvious reasons) or being in media/content creation (driven by Gen Z / new media push)
PE was a path to guaranteed money for long enough that people assumed it would always be a path to guaranteed money, making it increasingly prestigious.

But prestige is a indicator of where the world went, not a forecast for where the world is going.

New episode of the Crew Podcast with Steven Boone (VP of Enterprise at Perplexity).

He never carried a bag: law school → rev ops → Chief of Staff to Twilio’s CRO → Zuora enterprise sales → now running enterprise at Perplexity, where every rep he’s hired closed a deal in his one’s for founders hiring sellers, leaders scaling headcount, and candidates trying to win the interview loop at a top AI company.

Hunter AE roles should pay double market comp. If they don’t, walk away.

Building pipeline from scratch is the hardest work in sales. A company asking you to do it at standard comp is pushing its biggest problem onto you.

And when AI-natives are ripping on inbound, the t hunting. They’re closing.

"just be yourself" is only good/logical advice if the person has their shit together

otherwise, they're probably better off not being themselves fully

bogus advice: “people don’t leave companies, they leave managers”

people will put up with bad management (the first-line leader they report to) if they’re winning

but if the company is a grind, they over hire, and people aren’t winning, they leave the company

doesn’t mean jack if you have a great manager in that case

think of the extremes:

amazing company/PMF + bad first-line leader? rep is most likely crushing and stays

bad PMF/over hiring/etc. but best leader ever? you’ll still look to leave

great PMF companies bring great talent, and usually high EQ/IQ people

bad PMF companies bring bad talent, and thus bad leadership a lot of the time

people leave for lack of PMF way more than they leave shitty bosses

PMF solves all. salespeople want to win (and winning means you make money as a byproduct)

this one goes in the bucket of “sounds good/logical, but not actually what happens”

painfully accurate

from what I’ve observed, if you’re still friends with your high school friends, you either:

1) didn’t grow yourself / moved back home and not to a city / kind of peaked

or

2) you went to an amazing high school and still friends with them because you’re all ambitious together

no middle ground from what I’ve seen
The most underrated trait I've seen in high achievers: they have ZERO childhood friends.

As a kid, your friends are pre-determined by where you live or go to school.

That's why most of them are mediocre and you quickly outgrow them.

But as adults, you get to choose your friends.

The more ambitious you are, the more likely you are to seek a new, ambitious social circle.

That's why Marc Andreessen, Walt Disney, and Tim Cook all left their rural hometowns for NYC, LA, and San Francisco.

If you still regularly hang out with high school friends, you’re probably not ambitious enough.

AI is adding a ton more work for professional services (law, consulting, finance, etc), not less - let me explain

have some friends who are in these fields in NYC, and they recently got access company wide license to Claude

partners are doing their typical "look over the final deck" review,

and then are sending an absolute Claude-slopped follow-up in a separate email asking to check over some additional points (all just sent from their prompt window)

and then the associate is needed to corroborate all of these, a lot of which is nonsense + verbose

the rise of additional busy-work that is lower on important and also urgency is going to be the biggest bottleneck for knowledge workers for the foreseeable future

totally agree here @SahilBloom

I always thought the phrase "no one cares/no one is watching" is total bogus

people are judgey + they remember stuff

so how you do anything is how you will be perceived for how you do everything, for better or for worse
I regret to inform you that everything matters. Small things become big things. You don't get to pick and choose when to show up, because the world will ignore your best and judge you for your worst. The one who brings energy every single day will win. Because everything matters.
