The story keeps getting crazier. To recap everything that has been reported so far:
- The US intelligence community discovered that Jensen Huang, the CEO of the largest company in the world, was sleeping with Alice Huang, a Chinese spy and an executive at Megaspeed. (FT)
- Multiple independent investigations have concluded that Megaspeed is likely a Chinese cutout, which helps Chinese companies access AI chips or circumvent export controls. (NYT and Bloomberg)
- The US intelligence community also concluded that Alice Huang’s goal was to convince Jensen to lobby the U.S. government to loosen export controls on advanced AI chips. (NYT)
- The intelligence community relayed this information to “a small group of top US government officials” earlier this year. (FT)
- Over the last year, Jensen Huang has repeatedly lobbied the U.S. government to loosen export controls on advanced chips. @BISgov has done so, not only by permitting the export of H200 chips to China, but also not enforcing export controls that would have required a license for exports of the most advanced Blackwell chips to Megaspeed and Southeast Asia.
- Although @CommerceGov leadership was presumably briefed on this information by the U.S. intelligence community, @BISgov has taken no actions to tighten controls on Megaspeed or Southeast Asia.
- Megaspeed remains a preferred cloud partner of Nvidia, and continues to receive Nvidia Blackwell chips despite employing a Chinese spy who reportedly is romantically engaged with the CEO of Nvidia.
- Tens of billions of dollars worth of AI chips have been exported to Southeast Asia this year alone, and Malaysia and Singapore are now two of the four largest importers of AI chips in the world.
What is going on here??? We need answers. The question of who gets the most advanced AI chips in the world is literally the defining strategic question of our time. And not only does it seem like the MSS may be directly influencing the debate on export controls in the United States, but also @CommerceGov is refusing to listen to the warnings of the IC on this issue. What is a POSSIBLE good explanation for why Megaspeed is still receiving chips? Why is there not a license requirement for AI chip shipments to all of Southeast Asia? This is beyond strange at this point.
The fallout from this story will be massive. Obviously, the motivations underpinning Nvidia’s policy views opposing export controls must now all be questioned. But also, how did @BISgov sit on this information and has still taken no actions? We need answers.

BREAKING: Google’s parent Alphabet added another 3.85 million shares of SpaceX in Q3, its latest SEC filing shows.
Alphabet held 555 million shares worth $83.7 billion as of Sept. 30. SpaceX alone made up nearly 95% of its reported stock portfolio.
Google first put $900 January 2015. By the end of Q3, the stake was worth about 93 times Google’s original investment.

I really hope they pull this off! Would be incredibly inspiring.
SpaceX will attempt to catch both the Super Heavy booster and Starship on the upcoming flight.
If both are successful, it will mark the first time that all parts of an orbital rocket return to Earth intact.
This is the critical breakthrough needed to make life multiplanetary.

European authorities have once again shown that they are incompetent fools who are incapable of doing anything to stop us.
We experimented with multithreading, and we succeeded in causing widespread panic, as well as forcing European authorities to spend a fortune on all these procedures.

Please bury the hatchet.
We are now in a post-Trump world, and America is at a crossroads. At home, we have a growing K-shaped economy where those with assets are winning, and those without are losing.
On the world stage, our ability to be at the forefront of economic, social, and technological progress is being challenged by China. This is a fact, like it or not.
A divided country is the worst possible place to be in order to overcome these challenges. We need EVERYONE to come together.
From Elon's standpoint, he will say that he's simply defending himself against unfair and brutal opposition that started during COVID.
From the Dem's standpoint, they will say they are wrongly villainized by someone who has far too much influence and power.
Both things can be true.
But you know what's also true? America benefits TREMENDOUSLY if both sides come together and focus on making America a better place for all its citizens.
Elon is uniquely positioned to deliver on this with extremely high quality jobs, and industry that cement America's technological lead.
Democrats are uniquely positioned as well, with a mandate by the voting public to focus on massively growing the economy and leave behind all the other stuff that's simply far less important.
There's no better time than now for Elon to build during his prime, and for Dems to empower him to do so for the benefit of ALL Americans.
It's time to move forward as the UNITED States of America, accept our differences, celebrate our collective ability to express those differences, and work together to fulfill America's true potential: a place where hard work and innovation drastically improve the lives of everyone.

I think we’ve already hit RSI and the labs are holding it back from us. But why would any of them want to hold back from being the first to announce it? Maybe an agreement to coordinating a collab announcement? Imagine if the American AI labs agreed to announce RSI, AGI etc and what that would do for American pride - and maybe a little unity that we desperately need.
Anthropic will need compute more than SpaceX needs them as a customer.
I know it sounds crazy, but I think SpaceX and Anthropic merge, or even SpaceX acquires Anthropic. And crazier, it could happen in the next two years. Anthropic has the best AI in the world and I think they will continue to or at least be a close 2nd. They desperately need compute. And while they have compute spread across AWS, Google and SpaceX, SpaceX is the fastest builder of new large datacenters. And, in turn, they will take Anthropic compute market share away from Google & AWS. At the same time, Cursor will continue to improve (imo because of grok bot) and catch up to Anthropic. Then what?
