Nobody asked for an AI version of every song, film, and photo. We just got it anyway, sold back to us as innovation.

Companies replacing writers and artists with AI, then asking the public to "support creativity," is a contradiction nobody in charge seems to notice.

My grandson told us his gym teacher said kids who can't do a pull-up just "weren't born athletic" and should focus on "other subjects."

He's ten, not particularly into sports, came home kind of defeated after PE class. Apparently a handful of kids struggled with pull-ups during a fitness test, and instead of coaching them through it, the teacher made this comment in front of the whole class.

My grandson said he just stood there under the bar, not able to do even one, while the teacher moved on to the next kid like he'd already written him off.

My daughter was livid when she heard it, not because her son needs to be a gymnast, but because a ten-year-old doesn't need an adult deciding out loud what he's capable of based on one bad day on a pull-up bar.

She emailed the school, kept it simple, just asked that fitness struggles get coached instead of narrated. The teacher apologized, said it came out wrong, probably true. But words land different coming from a kid's PE teacher than from a stranger on the internet.

AI "art" trained on real artists' work without consent, then undercuts those same artists in the market their work helped build.

The flood of AI content didn't make creativity more accessible. It just made genuine human work harder to find in the noise.

Inmates can be paid cents per hour for labor that companies profit millions from, and it's completely legal.

My aunt caught a ticket agent telling an elderly man his senior discount "doesn't apply on weekends," which isn't a real policy anywhere.

She was next in line, heard the whole exchange. The old man had his card ready, clearly a regular, and the agent just told him weekends were full price for seniors, no explanation beyond "that's just how it works."

The man didn't argue, just paid full price and shuffled off toward his gate, the kind of guy who's used to not fighting things like this.

My aunt stepped up and asked the agent to show her that policy in writing. The agent got flustered, said she'd "check," and suddenly the discount applied just fine for my aunt's own ticket, no mention of any weekend rule.

She didn't chase the old man down to tell him, he was already gone, but she did ask for a manager and reported exactly what she witnessed, word for word.

Maybe it was a misunderstanding on the agent's part, people get rules confused. But if you're not sure, the answer isn't to guess in the direction that costs the customer more money.

We call it "paying your debt to society" while companies quietly profit off prison labor that pays far below minimum wage.

Nobody talks about how "eating out" has become a luxury expense. A dinner for two at a mid-tier restaurant is $120 after tip. That same meal cost $40 ten years ago. We're not eating better food, we're just paying more to eat in public while wages stayed exactly the same.

My brother watched a store employee argue with a mother about formula pricing while her baby screamed in the cart the entire time.

Regular Saturday, my brother in line behind this woman. The register was ringing up formula at a price different from the shelf tag, and the cashier called over a supervisor instead of just honoring the tag like usual.

The supervisor looked at the tag, looked at the screen, and told the mom, "The system price is correct, the shelf must be wrong, so you'll have to pay the higher amount," completely unbothered while this woman is trying to bounce a screaming infant on her hip.

My brother, next in line, just said, "I'll cover the difference," pulled out a five, and the whole thing ended right there. The supervisor looked almost disappointed the confrontation was over.

It was like four dollars. He wasn't trying to be a hero, he just couldn't listen to one more minute of corporate pricing logic get explained to an exhausted mom with a screaming baby.

Stores mess up shelf tags, that happens. But when it's your mistake, the customer shouldn't be the one who eats the cost, especially not while juggling a diaper bag and a meltdown.
