Europe’s first 4 ITER Divertor Cassette Bodies are on their way!

The four units manufactured by @simicspa arrived in Port-Saint-Louis, France, where they will continue their journey towards final divertor assembly.

A peek into the pit 👀

6 out of 9 vacuum vessel modules are in the ITER Tokamak Pit. And the work goes on.

The world’s largest fusion reactor is amazing from every angle.

From the top, one can see two radial beams have been removed. 🏗️

That means the load of these sectors has been transferred to the gravity supports underneath.

The fully assembled ITER vacuum vessel will weigh around 5,200 tonnes. Now that’s a lot to shoulder. 💪

ITER’s assembly has gathered momentum 💫

A few glimpses are enough to reveal the scale of the engineering challenge.
