We always find time for what’s important to us.
there was a guy in a documentary about getting addicted to world of warcraft that said, "at first, you just play when you have free time. but then you discover, you have a lot more free time than you thought." i routinely return to this as a source of motivation. i have the time

A seemingly modern moment of abstraction in a medieval manuscript, representing silence as a yellow rectangle: publicdomainreview.org/collection/yel…

“And when he opened the 7th seal, there followed a silence in heaven about the space of half an hour”

@iamfujimura That’s a great quote! I’m going to use that to explain the exuberant use of color in my art.

@Joseph_Fasano_ I love this teachers attitude. And the student’s work shines because of it. There’s plenty of time to fix it later, but it has to exist in the first place in order to then be fixed.

This will always be one of my favorite things. A teacher told me, "I gave one of my 2nd grade (dyslexic) students your nature poetry prompt. He's reluctant to write because of challenges, but I suspect he’s gifted. I told him just to write and we’d sort out the spelling later.

Some of the illustrations in this style had a kinda generic look to their figures. But I did like the a lot of patterning and color palates used. Methinks it still influences my work today.
Global Village Coffeehouse is a late 1980s to early 2000s design aesthetic known for its handcrafted look, earth tones and nature inspired motifs. It became common in 90s corporate design, appearing across cafes, bookstores, office software and educational materials

The tech is cool. But what I also found quite interesting was the WHY she got into robotics: so she could make her art easier.

recently I saw an art exhibition that truly made me both laugh and cry: a retrospective of a painter I had never heard of before, Mexican surrealist Alfredo Castañeda (1938-2010). Every painting felt like an "instant classic," as if it had always been part of the canon
