🇻🇪🇪🇺🎙️ | @elsultanbitcoin on Venezuela’s electricity crisis at the Rebuilding Venezuela Summit in the European Parliament:

“By the year 2000, Venezuela had the highest electrical consumption per capita of Latin America. The average Venezuelan consumed 2,500 kilowatt-hours a e Venezuelan consumes less than 40 kilowatt-hours a year.

This is the result of years of underinvestment and mismanagement by putting out of political privilege instead of technical and science people to operate the national electrical system and nationalizing the generation, the distribution and the transmission of the electrical system in Venezuela.

Today Venezuela has an installed generation capacity of 34 gigawatts, but we’re roughly producing 13. And we’re demanding 16. That is what causes the blackouts and the rationing.”

Itaipú is to Paraguay what Guri, and Caruachi together are to Venezuela 🇻🇪

Same installed capacity, same region, but closer to the U.S. and with lots of energy and gas.

Paraguay built 900 MW of Tier I data centers, before Araico built AI compute.

Venezuela will follow!
The power of water is awesome. Paraguay and Brazil harnessed the power of the mighty Paraná River at the Itaipú Dam, one of the world’s engineering marvels. This project was only a dream when I lived in Paraguay as a boy in the 1970s, and it was a true joy to visit the completed y Secretary of State.
And it was even better to visit with Paraguayan President @SantiPenap to announce that US investors have signed a deal to build a data center nearby drawing on the abundant hydroelectric energy. This deal has the potential to be the largest foreign private investment in Paraguay’s history and thus to deepen the longstanding ties between our countries. 🇺🇸🤝🇵🇾

🚨🇻🇪 Rebuilding Venezuela requires deep reforms, strong institutions, and highly qualified professionals capable of implementing them.

During the Rebuilding Venezuela Summit 2026, held at the European Parliament, Venezuelan experts and international leaders discussed the reforms democratic, and prosperous Venezuela.

Three key takeaways emerged from the discussion.

1️⃣ Accelerate Venezuela’s economic recovery by creating the conditions for businesses to invest and human capital to return. After 27 years of socialism, we can turn Venezuela into a country of opportunities and prosperity.

2️⃣ Liberalize the energy sector, including the oil, gas, and hydroelectric sectors, to maximize Venezuela’s energy potential. Turning Venezuela into the battery of the Americas is key for the region's economic security and technological development.

3️⃣ Put Venezuela’s best talent in charge of rebuilding our institutions and strategic infrastructure. From the Guri hydroelectric complex to the Central Bank and our ports, we need qualified professionals capable of getting the country working again.

Here are all the interventions from the summit.

00:00 @StjepoBartulica — Rule of law, strong institutions, and accountability as foundations for rebuilding Venezuela.

04:00 @AdamBielan — Lessons from Poland demonstrate how economic reforms and freedom can transform a country.

08:20 @JraissatiJorge — Accelerating economic growth, restoring the energy sector, and bringing top professionals into public institutions.

19:34 @Barbaraadejesus — Venezuela’s historic opportunity and the challenges ahead in consolidating a genuine democratic transition.

30:10 @MarkusWiechel — Rebuilding functioning institutions, restoring trust, and learning from European democratic transitions.

37:31 @ArmandoArmas — Rule of law, decentralization, and political reforms to secure a lasting democracy.

1:04:55 @elsultanbitcoin — Restoring the electricity system is essential to reviving industry, increasing production, and improving living standards.

1:14:58 @AngelAlvaradoR — Macroeconomic stability, restoring production, and implementing reforms to accelerate Venezuela’s economic growth.

1:23:10 Jesús Lander — Restoring access to financing, expanding credit, and mobilizing capital toward productive sectors.

1:31:10 @PlanchartMarcos — Europe must expand its economic engagement with Venezuela and contribute to its reconstruction and democratic transition.

2:09:37 @cdager12 — Legal certainty, transparency, and compliance mechanisms to facilitate international investment.

2:17:19 @MartinRodRodr — Reforming the oil and gas sector to attract capital, reduce discretionary government intervention, and unlock Venezuela’s energy resources.

2:25:45 Luis C. Cano — Reforming public administration while preserving technical expertise and institutional knowledge.

2:34:40 @MaxRangeley — Harnessing artificial intelligence to strengthen justice, protect property rights, and modernize institutions.

Venezuela’s reconstruction cannot remain a collection of good intentions. We need concrete reforms, investment, and qualified professionals capable of turning today’s opportunities into prosperity for millions of Venezuelans.

A tu casa.

Dios bendiga a Venezuela tierra bendita amada.

Washington increasingly crypto when it can find an issuer, a compliance department, a transparent ledger, and a freeze function."

We have stablecoin legislation. Great. Stablecoins are useful products issued by financial institutions. But we still need to protect the right to build things that don’t require financial institutions.

Will the law tolerate software nobody controls, communications nobody intermediates, computer programs you run yourself, and transactions nobody has unilateral authority to reverse? Those are the harder questions."
