Unpopular opinion — it shouldn't take longer to settle the invoice than it does to do the work.

Chatgpt estimated the total working hours spent designing and cutting all lead-based typefaces in history at ~60 million hours. We'll never know of course, but even if it's wrong by an order of magnitude, something to think about.

Sometimes when I'm typing a test specimen using only the handful of letters I'm designing, it results in some hard poetry.

Is anyone from the type design community still here? Or did everyone leave for Mastodon?

Lovely fonts in use of Taurus Grotesk, along side @klimtypefoundry's Pitch and Signifier on Luke Mitchell's site.

Typographically, if you were gonna abbreviate 1998, which way would you face the apostrophe?

Taurus Grotesk secures a position between the extremes of clinical rationality and impractical weirdness, which affords it character and utility. Its origins lie in the lively, early 20th-century German Grotesk, Venus.

Thinking of reducing my library, most are nice design books, not many very expensive/rare ones. Anyone have advice on the best methods / platforms to streamline the process of selling them?

Hi, I'm looking for someone who's actually read, or used and then followed or applied brand guidelines or found them useful. I don't care which brand, or what year, let me know, I'm genuinely curious.
