I'm now one of the world's first @Canonical Academy Sysadmins. I needed to pass four exams for this - Using Linux Terminal, Using Ubuntu Desktop, Using Ubuntu Server and Using DevOps Principles. As an Ubuntu user for over 10 years it was a challenging but fun endeavor!

JavaScript isn't a serious language

Heh heh - Someone found a bug in a discord bot - Ping'd 3,000 people.
They were using JavaScript for the bot where replace only replaces the first instance (As opposed to a sane language where it replaces all instances). JavaScript instead has a replaceAll variation for that.

jfc a client's timesheet software is killing me. I've uploaded a CSV file for import, can see a preview of the data to be imported but the final import is a BATCH JOB RUNNING AT 3 AM each day! WTF?!

We made history. On just our second flight, we became the first commercial space company from Europe to deliver satellites into orbit. Mission 'Onward and Upward' successfully lifted off and deployed payloads into orbit. A new chapter for European spaceflight. More: isaraerospace.com/press/history-…

I'm still amazed at how much the switch from Windows to Ubuntu reduced the amount of tech support I have to do for my father.

This week I used a plunger for the first time to unclog the office toilet. I didn't know how awesome this simple tool is!

My small (premium) account got locked for no reason. Appealing didn't work, using the DSA form and being persistent eventually did. I think you turned up the automatic bot detection a notch too far @nikitabier. /r/twitterhelp is full of users with similar stories.

Had fun with @opencode and DeepSeek v4 Flash all day. I've used it for refactoring Terraform code and it works surprisingly good with Google's Terraform best practices as guidelines in the AGENTS.md and some additional instructions I added on top

I accidentally became an Azure Virtual Desktop expert. If anyone needs help with it let me now, I've probably faced all issues by now 😂

I wanted to give Pi a try but 130 npm packages is a nope for me. For @opencode it's just 6, feels way better.

I'm currently setting up an Azure Virtual Desktop environment with FSLogix for a client. Who thought that the default behavior of silently creating local profiles when the FSLogix profile storage couldn't be accessed is a good idea? Users log in and wonder where their files are.

IT detective work: A client's phishing test had a 100% click rate after a new email gateway was deployed. The culprit? Microsoft's systems, not the gateway. For some reason the bypass rules seem to fail. I'll post the fix once I have it.

Ah, I forgot to post the culprit. It was an Exchange Online rule that was configured to only audit instead of being active.

There is a German subreddit collecting those sad accidents: reddit.com/r/Rentnerfahre…
Politicians won't touch the issue because old people are the biggest voter base. Self-driving cars will eventually solve the issue, but I see no solution for the meantime.

We don't talk enough about the disasters of growing old in a car dependent society. Mother of two dead.

A colleague got held up by airport security once. The guy was looking curiously at his lock picking set, which he assured him is just for hobby purposes. Presenting a Polish ID after being asked surely didn't help him beat the allegations.

I didn't feel particularly motivated to go to the gym today but did it anyway because those are the days that count the most.
