Today, at the 32nd @IRENA Council, DG @flacamera underscored the strong economic case of #renewables & stressed that “the #EnergyTransition cannot be put on hold."

Spotlighting the crucial role of renewables in economic planning and energy security, he urged, “We must sustain the preparing for the greater level of action now required.”

Honoured to welcome 300+ delegates to the @IRENA Council, chaired by the #UAE. The economic case for renewables is clear. Energy is shaping competitiveness & the transition will define tomorrow’s economies. Our responsibility is to ensure that all our Members have a stake in it.

Renewables remain the foundation but electrification provides the backbone for connecting renewable power to end-use sectors. Power grids, storage and system flexibility must advance in parallel.

📢 At the Global High-Level Forum in Santo Domingo, @IRENA & the Government of the Dominican Republic signed a Letter of Intent to advance cooperation on the #EnergyTransition, including through the newly launched Partnership for Accelerating Renewables in Latin America and the Caripolicy planning, investment facilitation, & knowledge sharing in focus, the cooperation will help translate regional energy ambitions into practical action.
