The most important question is whether #Intel #CoyoteCove / #PantherCove has inherited this ZMM issue from previous *Cove architectures; if not, that represents a significant SIMD advantage over #AMD #Zen6’s 4-port FPU
Given the unique CPUID family (400Fxx), the distinct #PantherCove codename, and #Intel's insistence on distinguishing between server and client cores, I would be surprised if #DiamondRapids did not feature 8x256-bit FPU ports for #AMX, additional FMA and permutation EUs

Intel doesn’t need mindshare tbh, they need CCG making money so I don’t know the difference is huge for them. AMD has a lot more to prove or uphold in this sense. But I agree on the ram and socket, AMD did right by getting boards out, it’s literally since AM4 been their ace in the hole. AMD has been getting away with a lot relative to what bins they can sell or how they’re setting up core configs, some of it is design limited on SKU like CCD breakdowns, but they get to milk the entire curve of yields especially with the Ryzen 5s and 7s these days. Even the 9800X3D is a pretty generic die just with cache, the cache goes a long way though clearly.

@eucliided @TheCaretaker_01 @InstLatX64 For comparable score on 9950X you’ll starting pulling similar power as it goes into PBO limits. At least part for part. 265K can get closer to 9900X but it’s also faster for the power. P-core is the stinker and is what is usually less efficient in comparisons, gets hot fast too.

I mean the 52C is gonna be a monster. And my guess is Intel will be able to drive more adoption for the new socket anyway, so I’m not sure it’ll be a huge issue. You say game over too, you’re looking at a really niche part of the market that isn’t even established yet really even to decide this. Of like basically mini hedt on consumer desktop platforms. The basis of a 12C beating a 16C would be a 33% or so per core improvement, I would necessarily rule that out so much as mention that some of that if not a good amount of that is gonna be N2, which Intel is also using over N3B which N3B specifically was not a great N3 family node in comparison to others offered later.

@DreadyBear @InstLatX64 With the RAM prices, only those who will buy the new hardware is gonna be limited. I wish this long term socket happened before the RAM apocalypse.

While they do not make up the mass market, the highest chip variants play a role in swaying the mindshare.

In my time with my 265K I got a lot out of the interconnect with OC and didn’t even do too much with my cores even to this extent. Notable is Intel is like 2 generations ahead in IMC as of now, AMD has needed movement which will happen in this direction, just whether or not it’s a moving target. Arrow Lake as an architecture if you strip out X3D is actually still normal faster than vanilla Zen 5 a lot of the time, and especially under OC conditions of which I consider just fixing the default config a lot of the time. Assume they BLLC to fix the direct technology win, and just don’t blow up the standard config and they could still likely outcompete AMD if they manage to get it right.

@DreadyBear @TheCaretaker_01 @InstLatX64 The uncore was mostly fixed with the 250K+ and 270K+, which are much better than initial ARL products. But ARL bad name didn't leave.

They offer much better value than most AMD parts—much better MT and comparable gaming even against X3D parts outside a 5090 at 1080p.

@eucliided @DreadyBear @InstLatX64 You can OC the E cores to 5.1 from 4.6 and get a decent jump in MT from that alone. You could also push up the P cores up to 5.5 reliably and get an extra boost as well

@TheCaretaker_01 @DreadyBear @InstLatX64 Gotta remember that we'd be pushing 300-400W at that point if not more and would need a 420mm radiator to reliably cool off that thing.

REVIEW:

"The ASUS ProArt P16 RTX Spark is one of the most capable creator laptops I’ve used this year. The unified memory architecture, the Blackwell‑class GPU, the thermal headroom, the OLED panel ...

Everything feels engineered for people who push their hardware hard every single day."

It's also the lightest (just 3.9lbs) and thinnest, but doesn't sacrifice on thermals and fan noise (in fact, it leads).

For those who need CUDA, use agentic AI workloads, and need unified memory this is very likely the BEST of the RTX Spark laptops.

And if you're a creator/video person who just wants a high-end, top-tier Windows 11 laptop, the entry-models are a great option.

Our full review from @daniel_rubino now live at Windwos Central.

We tested BOTh the 4K/128GB/2TB and the 3K/64GB/1TB models.

This is exclusively the fault of the pirate community btw🤷🏾‍♂️

@eucliided @InstLatX64 And absolutely would a dual CCD chip (Intel is making this) compete or in my opinion likely beat a comparable AMD made chip on 12C especially with AVX support and a better IMC/interconnect layout. Without HT.

@DreadyBear @InstLatX64 Again, Intel won't have an answer if AMD drops a 12C Zen6 + 32C Zen6 part or even a 32+32C dual Zen6c part but all these are hypothetical now.

@eucliided @InstLatX64 Arrow Lake was literally smoking any relevant part in MT and the E-cores are gonna get another similar uplift which is most definitely gonna be larger than the Zen 6 base architecture. Even with the CCD size changes unless they recover 100% of the core increase it’s still iffy.

@DreadyBear @InstLatX64 Zen6 12C CCD is roughly expected to match the 16C Zen5 with 2x 8C CCD. AMD can drop a 24C Zen6 chip right against the 28C NVL and Intel will have to wait for 52C NVL to beat that.
