The extension of the Northern bullet train corridor to Guwahati is a pivotal moment for East India.
My heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji and Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji.
The meant to end at Siliguri. After my written request and meeting with Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji in July, he saw merit in our proposal and approved its extension into the North East.
This is what a government that listens and delivers looks like.
As Assam prepares for a new wave of high-tech industries, fast, affordable flight like connectivity to Delhi and two state capitals will open up enormous opportunities for businesses and livelihoods.
A bullet train to Assam once seemed so far-fetched that it never even became a public demand. Today, what we scarcely dared to dream is becoming reality.

HCM Dr. @himantabiswa attended the Langkhun Festival of the Tiwa community at Ulukunchi in West Karbi Anglong today.
An integral part of Tiwa heritage, the Langkhun Puja is more than a traditional religious observance. It is a living expression of the community’s history, e, folk culture and deep connection with nature.
The festival embodies prayers for the well-being of the community, the removal of misfortunes and the continued peace and harmony of village life. According to traditional beliefs, it also seeks to ward off evil forces, illnesses and adversities.
The unique traditions of every indigenous community enrich Assam’s shared cultural heritage, and the Langkhun Festival holds a special place in this diverse cultural tapestry.

Assam has taken a significant step towards strengthening its healthcare infrastructure with the establishment of a world-class cancer treatment facility.
In the presence of HCM Dr. @himantabiswa, the Government of Assam signed an agreement with IBA Particle Therapy India Pvt. up a Proton Beam Therapy Centre at an estimated cost of ₹600 crore.
This will be India’s first Proton Beam Therapy Centre established through a state government initiative. The advanced technology precisely targets cancer cells while minimising damage to surrounding healthy tissues.
The centre will expand access to advanced cancer treatment for patients across Assam and the Northeast, while also serving neighbouring states and countries. It will further open up new opportunities in medical physics, radiation oncology and cancer research.
